Bad day to have a bunch of short dogs lol

When it would snow, my husband would scoop a “princess path” in our yard for our Bichon Frise so she didn’t have to go in the snow. She always chose to dive in and frolick in the deeper snow, so we ended up being the ones using the path. And she would end up looking like the picture you posted. Thankfully she wasn’t very big, so we kept a bath towel next to the front door and dried her off.

Coming down pretty good here just south east of DSM. I have to go out to West Des Moines this evening from about 5:00 - 8:30. Not worried about the drive out, but not really looking forward to the drive home (8:30 - 9:00/9:15).

Just spitting in Norwalk as of now. My prediction is that if they are predicting 9 inches in DM area and they cancel everything that it'll be less than an inch.
Not this time, especially if its already starting as snow. There's 3 heavy snow makers in this storm, each can produce 2-6". The risks to not getting much are that the first one was too warm and starts as rain or a mix, but that already didn't happen. The second heavy wave comes just before dawn (in Eastern IA), it could miss if a "dry slot" mixes in, but from what I've read, none of the models are predicting that. The third wave is the wrap around snow after the temps drop and the wind picks up tomorrow. That seems the most likely to miss as it is dependent on the system behaving a certain way. But the way this system set up, it's not one that is likely to be a non-event. It certainly could be 3-4" overnight and just a bit tomorrow, but that's within the predicted range. it won't be less than an inch.

It’s snowing in the metro now. Saw the weather channel moved from 6-12 down to 5-9. Boo.
With the Weather Channel it more of a guessing game than with the local stations. They just seem to focus on the highly populated areas. Was that the GFS model or the Euro model they used?

Son living in Omaha, went home from work at noon. Said it was snowing like crazy.

Light snow in Ames now.

When I had a a couple of terriers, I'd have a portion of the yard shoveled for them. One dog never strayed from that area and didn't like the cold, however the other dog was more adventurous and forged her own paths through the deeper snow and would be half-covered in snow. I had to keep a dog brush and towel at the door for her when she came back inside.

I usually scoop out a 12' x 12' patch of yard unless it gets shallower in other places (and then I scoop a path out to the shallow spots).

Nothing in the boondocks of southern Iowa yet. Did us finally getting a snowblower provide a blizzard free zone? Relatives near Ames and Des Moines getting snow now.

I have to move the patch around throughout the winter to keep the grass from being destroyed come spring. Our dog must have the nastiest piss around. Just wreaks havoc on the grass.

Not doing jack squat, sure be nice to have a job you can be wrong all the time and still get paid! Did I do the Boomer-ism right?
