I hope EVERYONE is being careful moving snow. I know to many guys who have had heart attacks moving snow.

Actually, the exact opposite. Cold air is denser (heat / warm air rises).Ummm, a translation for non avionic people, I'm guessing thin air?

First part you are on the right track. Due to the increased density it vastly improves performance as there is more air density to lift.Actually, the exact opposite. Cold air is denser (heat / warm air rises), and these extreme temps really reduce the lift of an airplane wing due to increased drag coefficients in this dense, cold air. Engine performance (efficiency) is also affected, creating a double-whammy.
These snow storms in central Iowa are going to be a debacle for at least a couple of weeks. Not really going to warmup for melting. I saw around Jan 23/24 there is rain forecasted with high temps around 38. Can't wait....
FYI, I like to run outside, even in winter. This is all going to cramp my style some.
10 inches is way too much for the back doorI need some of this to melt because if we get another 10 inches I won't be able to get out my back door.
Yep, I've raised the blinds on all of our south facing windows to let as much sunlight into our house as possible, and I lowered our thermostat to 68 degrees. Every little bit helps. This time of year the sun really does make a bit of a difference.
Edited. Should've known to leave dynamics to the experts.First part you are on the right track. Due to the increased density it vastly improves performance as there is more air density to lift.

Hey, if my wife had her wishes, it would be set at 78.68? Savage.
Everyone is out airing up tires this morning. Had to do mine and it's terrible.
I have a 30 year old furnace so I run the fireplace all day, put a space heater by in the same area as the thermostat, and have a humidifier going. The furnace hasn't kicked on since about 9 this morning. I keep my thermostat at 65.Yep, I've raised the blinds on all of our south facing windows to let as much sunlight into our house as possible, and I lowered our thermostat to 68 degrees. Love the air hoses at Kwik Star. Don't need a tire gage. You set the desired air pressure and start pumping your tire up. The air automatically shuts off when it reaches that pressure.Everyone is out airing up tires this morning. Had to do mine and it's terrible.
Costco does the same. Really nice when the weather is cold and you don't want to waste any time out there messing around.Love the air hoses at Kwik Star. Don't need a tire gage.
