***Official 2023 Weather Thread***

The data nerd in me got to thinking the other day. It would be interesting to see average yields in a comparable year 20+ years ago to see how much seed genetics have helped.
A lot of fungicide and insecticides are sprayed now also. Keeps the plant healthier.

Seems odd that where I live is in the orange as we've had pretty consistent rain and my grass had finally started to go dormant when we had a couple healthy rains again. Probably had to mow more this year than I have in the 15 years I've been at this house.

What I have been told on this site is that it doesn't matter unless you are an "official" reporting site. You and the majority of the county you live in might be doing just fine. But if the "official" reporting site is dry..........well then by golly, by george you are in a drought.
