***Official 2023 Weather Thread***

They issued a flash flood watch for the twin cities last night for the potential of 3-5" of rain.

Didn't receive a single drop

More small thunderstorms brewing up. Got dark and lot's of thunder and actually getting some thunderstorm rain at 4:26 p.m. but bet it doesn't last more than a few minutes.

Edit: 4:30 and it's done for the moment. All it did was mess up my deck chair rehab project. Got new slings made for my old vintage Brown Jordon chairs and need to wax and polish these old vintage babies before doing the new slings.

Picked up .5 of rain yesterday, much appreciated it. dropped the temp and heat pretty good for a bit but it was icky by 10pm again.

Looks like most of the twin cities will get a good rain today. But my area (SW metro) won’t get much if any. Just had a couple sprinkles. Sigh.
 
I look at the my radar app often. What is happening, when these wind directions such as is shown over Waukee right now?

Channel 13 shows first round going north of Des Moines and second round overnight going south of Des Moines. Imagine that. I give up.

PS I hope they are wrong
