Being a tree loving guy I, ice storms rate as #2 on my hate list behind tornados. Not an Iowan so deracho's are still too rare for me to make my tree wrecking list. I'll take the maybe 10" of wet snow versus some of that damn heavy ice.

The derecho took out more trees than 50 years worth of tornadoes. You definitely need to move that up in your list.

Yeah I moved away after the derecho from crapids but I was home for Thanksgiving and after seeing everything all cleaned up its like eery how treeless it is. Driving around feels so different because so many arboreal landmarks I used to get bearings were gone.

Normal routes I have mostly gotten used to the “new” scenery. Routes that I rarely travel like East Post Road and the 32nd street/glass road areas looking to the north from the top of the hill still get me.
