***Official 2023 Transfer Thread***

Honestly one of my favorite times of the year. The drama, the intrigue, the conclusions we all jump to, I can't get enough.

Im all ready to be pissed that some guy I have never heard of before picks a school instead of Iowa State and basically ruins the whole season. Right before someone that I have never heard of before picks our school and I declare us final four worthy based on our lineup

I'm curious to see if TJ can have a breakthrough transfer recruiting class in the way he has broken through with the '23 and '24 high school recruiting classes. That will be the key to taking us from a tournament qualifying team to a consistent top 25 team next year.

What if…. Bowen Born decided he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and play in cardinal and gold next year? I wouldn’t oppose. Don’t think the kid would start here or anything but man he’s a lethal shooter.

if we had to take a UNI player, Born would be like 3rd or 4th on my mock draft board

Really? I’m a big fan of Titan Anderson and think he’s going to be good next year. Honestly UNI could be pretty decent as a team with Austin Phyfe possibly getting granted a 6th year of eligibility

he also cant guard a folding chair

He actually is not to bad on defense. Plus, put him with our coaches and teach him. How many more years are we going to do this not being able to put the ball through the basket before we teach offensive players to play defense instead of the other way around.

Even if he had sound fundamentals, I cannot imagine him guarding Big 12 guards, and you definitely couldn't switch.

Torvik ranks 74 MVC players
Born is 56th in defensive rating

"our coaches teach him" loses meaning when he had one of our coaches teaching him as a freshman and he was still putrid on D

Why? Born is solid and can make shots, which is exactly what we need. A guy who can make shots.
He is small and so he would get picked on defensively in the conference.

UNI only had one junior and under classmen on the team. Phyfe and Hiese sat out. Could have a good squad next year

Only one person shot higher than him on his team. I would not say he shot his team out of the game. That’s crazy
He took over half the teams shots and to miss

he took over half the team’s shots. To shoot such a low percentage taking that many shots killed them

Agreed. Williams didn’t shoot great at Temple but his volume shows willingness. And he’s as good of a creator as Tamin from looking at his highlights. Hopefully the summer is kind to him.
I noticed great handles, quickness, and length. Watching vids of him I thought he looked better than Holmes coming in. Hope he doesn't lose a step with that injury.
