****Official 2023 Santa brought me what I wanted thread****

After 41+ years of marriage, the wife and I no longer exchange gifts and haven't for many years. Neither of us are materialistic and we don't need more "junk". If there is a need (or a want) we generally discuss it and decide to acquire it or not at that time. For us, waiting till Christmas (or even a birthday) really serves no purpose. This way we also receive the exact item we desired and avoid the returns/exchanges. I do remember the joy on her face when I did hit a homerun when picking out a gift but that was in the earlier years when jewelry or trinkets had more meaning than they do in our present lives. Just being there for each other is about the greatest gift we can give each other.
How do the rest of you view it and did you get what you wanted for Christmas? Was it a surprise or did you see it coming?
After 47 years we buy our own gifts and let the other person know what we bought. I send links to the kids to buy presents for me. Usually we have something small to suprise each other with.

I got two pots from made in, the 2 and 4 quart. Now that were in a house where we have a little more room and don't plan on moving anytime soon, we are trying to swap out our old post college stuff with newer nice stuff.

Nope, I asked for nothing and I got something. Severely disappointed.

Although, when I opened my something and it was this, all was forgiven (from my two ISU graduated daughters).

It is inside the lane, under one of the baskets. I like to think it was where Woodbury was standing when Kane threw the ball off his back for the and one.

Got the old man tickets to Marty Stuart @ Hoyt. He cried. Maybe one of 4-5 times I've ever seen cry.
