Wesneski, Kilian both would have to be better than Smyly at this point. Heck, bring up Jordan Wicks.
I'd be in favor of Wesneski getting the start against Pittsburgh on Sunday and then make your roster adjustments as you head into September.
I think you IL Smyly with a hang nail to get another arm up though.
I like Amaya a lot but wasn't his defense his big strength as a top prospect in our system? Last couple games he hasn't been close on his throw downs.
I'm just seeing Shane Green is being stretched out as a starter in Iowa...zero service time manipulation necessary for him. Maybe he's the guy we call up.
It's his game calling and blocking. The arm has always been average-ish.
I haven't been able to watch games this week, but issues with throwdowns I think are usually a footwork thing more than an arm thing. You start to hurry and it ends up making your stride weird which causes stuff to sail. Or is he short hopping them?
Palencia is going to be the biggest positive from this series. If he can continue throwing strikes our bullpen just got longer.
Why did we acquire Cuas? He has horrible control. He is a walk and HBP machine
