I originally thought he was being melodramatic. Now I think he was being optimistic.

FIFA is pushing the policy of "being very accurate" at accounting for stoppage time. The said the same for Russia but they are absolutely taking it to the extreme this time. I like it if it's consistent. I hate the usually arbitrary nature of stoppage time. Mainly because that means it's inconsistently applied game to game and league to league.

Here's an article with some quotes from FIFA:
At the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, referees are adding extra time to games. Lots of it.

I would love to know where the 5 added minutes are coming from in this match.

I've been very deliberate in these first games to pick ties where the teams are closely matched. It's done well for me. I've avoided the heavily favored matches as the moneyline doesn't pay much out and I'm not touching SGP's on soccer. Goals are too few to be able to count on a specific scorer.

My buddies that are heavy bettors have been on anytime to score plays for the stronger teams. Yesterday for France Giroud anytime scorer and Mbappe any time scorer was a pretty obvious one that everyone took.
