They have been blocked from doing so by Accuweather (others as well but mostly them because they have money to influence with) arguing that as a government entity they would be competing with private companies.

I think my weather app uses NOAA/NWS data. It's on Android though, I don't know if or what the iOS equivalent is.
I just make a shortcut on Home Screen, below is the one for my zip code:

I90 in Mn gets clear shut down. A trucker I know didn't pull off and buried it right into the snow that had piled up where they quit plowing. didn't hurt much other than his pride and pocket book if I remember much.
Don’t get me wrong I appreciate you all greatly but I also understand the time constraints and other duties required of you when compared to the NWS.
4" of snow here. I just went out and made my first pass plowing the driveway with the 4 wheeler. It's a really light snow which made it easy to push.
Also, temperature wise it's not to bad out right now, but I know that is changing soon.
