Winds gusts in the 50's today already blew down my neighbors linden tree. Was weeding in the front yard when it snapped off. Did get my attention.

Drive back from Boji/spirit lake place. Split between two storms by minutes. Saw a tree down by caseys in Pocahontas. Several cop cars there, so guessing fresh downed tree by Casey’s.

A regional agency says rolling blackouts would be limited to an hour at a time. Iowa has been rated at high risk of 'energy emergencies' this summer.

Turn the AC down to 64. That way when it hits you, you are fine for an hour or two.

Sure glad Alliant spent $300 million and raised our rates in order to shut down the Duane Arnold Nuclear plant early. It was old and not nearly as efficient as newer plants, but then it also would have help alleviate issues like this.
