0Z HRRR has one heck of a storm in Ames at 5PM tomorrow.
I have the age old debate of what vehicle to move into the garage for tomorrow in case of hail. The new family hauler (fully insured), or one of the liability only work beaters. Finding glass for the Trooper can be tough, but at the same time so can parts for the Palisade currently, the Pontiac is easy to find and really don't care about as much.

It looks like there is a chance for sky noodles today from SW IA to central IA. I'd target a corridor from Red Oak to Ankeny if I were storm chasing.

I'll bite, sky noodle Texas talk for tornado?

I get different approach to tornadoes in Oklahoma. Back in the many years ago time there was s big breakout in central Iowa. Remember watching the news after and they we're interviewing this guy standing in the driveway in front of his demolished house with just the foundation left. He was smoking a heater and it went something like this. "Yeah, I saw the tornado coming through the living room window. I'm from Oklahoma so it didn't scare me none. Figured I oughta head down to the basement. Closed the garage door first. Probably shouldn't have bothered with that garage door." All delivered in the calmest manner you could believe between hits on his cigarette. Dude was either in shock or one cool cucumber.
