***Official 2021 Vikings***

I wouldn't argue with getting a new GM too but I think the case for that is a little more grey.
I think Rick is a fine GM. Minnesota has plenty of talent on the team on both sides of the ball. That's his job. This team had the talent to win 10 or 11 games this year, and probably should have. That's on the coach, not the GM.

No OL talent.

I'm not sure I agree but I'm not smart enough tp argue it much. I feel like they've done ok on drafting talent but middle of the road only. I think Kirk was a mistake, and they've kept guys too long. The D has been allowed to go from really good to absolutely putrid.

On another note, does anyone still want Stefanski? Cleveland turned into a dumpster fire and Baker has thrown shade on the coaching staff too. He hasn't made that team better. His best season was last year and they had shown flashes of that before he came.

They have spent a lot of early draft picks on OL in the past 3 years. There's talent there. Certainly enough to get better results than they've gotten.

Just because they were early draft picks doesnt mean they are talented. Seems like way too many misses.

Darrisaw, Cleveland, and O'Neil are all above average lineman. Center and right guard are still issues, but we have bookend tackles for the first time in years.

O line has been the weakest link for Spielman’s entire tenure, but I’m sure he’ll figure it out one of these decades. Also, Zimmer wasn’t the one signing some of the ridiculous contracts on the defensive side of the ball. The Vikings have wallowed in mediocrity since Spielman has been GM. It’s long past time to move on from him.

O'Neill definitely and Cleveland and O'Neil are nice. But if they have 3 above average offensive lineman, why can't they do **** on offense. It can't all be coaching. It might be that they aren't getting the right type of players to fit with their scheme. Thats on the GM.

The Vikings defense is the real problem. The offense has been top 10 most or all year.

I feel the same way about Spielman. He has done alright, but I don't think he's done great. Some questionable big defensive contracts and some bad draft strategy. It's infuriating watching him acquire 25 6th and 7th rounders every year knowing that virtually none will make the roster.

My biggest reason for moving on from him is that the franchise seems at a cross-roads. I know Cousins is around (and if Spielman stays will undoubtedly get extended). However, if they do move on from Cousins and Zimmer, do I trust Spielman to figure out the QB position for the long haul? Personally, I do not.. And that's going to be a HUGE decision for the Vikings GM - whether it is this off-season or next. I would rather have someone else make that decision.

I agree with that, given hindsight. At the time of the initial signing, my feelings were they were taking a big swing to push them over the top. They were on the cusp and, right or wrong, felt like the right QB could get them there. They went for the biggest QB name available. That blew up in their faces pretty spectacularly and *should* cost them their jobs.

And to your point, we've known this wasn't working for a good 2-3 seasons now. Shouldn't have taken this long.

Not sure I understand the point of the Spielman move but whatever I guess.

Well is there a way to get the center a few more snaps? He's not quick but he runs strong.
