And LBs aren't always run stoppers. Kendricks is All-Pro because he's one of the best cover guys in the NFL. They could use another badly.

This. You need a corner or two but if they spent the whole draft just on O-lineman, I would not be upset at all. That thing is so screwed up and terrible. You CAN NOT WIN in the NFL with a ****** line. Why worry about drafting a successor to Cousins or anything like that when you are not going to spend the time and capital on something to protect him? Cousins is NOT the problem. He has been pretty good this year. The Vikings problem is injuries to key players and the horrible offensive coordinator.
Cook has 2 torn labrums. He wasn't going to do anything. When he is healthy, he destroys GB.

Darrisaw will be good. And O'Neill is an average NFL starter on a contract, so probably not worth it to draft someone, you're right.
But until this line is full of above average (top 10 at their position) starters, Vikings fans will not stop complaining about bad line play.
Did you watch the Bears game? He's young and he will learn but Darrisaw got repeatedly beat like a red-headed stepchild.

I don't know that you can ever win big with Cousins, but I'm not sure how you know when this is really the first year with Minnesota where he was not behind a straight garbage offensive line. When he was at Washington he had horrible receivers. He's not a guy that's going to elevate a team despite lack of either weapons or OL like the elite guys do. But if they can make a reasonable upgrade at G and Darrisaw keeps getting better it can be good enough. I worry about the defense and it's slide. They've been good most of these years, but that's been because they've blown the cap with contracts on defensive veterans. That's shifting, and even being I believe #8 in cap spent on defense and a defensive minded coach, they are second to last in ypg. Maybe the best they can do is hope for a fully available and effective Hunter being all the difference. Their paying him like he should be.
Basically that is their path next year - upgrade the Gs and pray Hunter is available and plays like that contract suggests he should. Not sure what else you do. Lots of hard to move contracts where you aren't going to get good value in return.

He has been mostly pretty good given he's played about half a season. He will be fine. The positive with the Vikings is their holes are so pronounced there's not much mystery what they need to do in the offseason. Barr will be the only major question that would change that. Looks like this draft is loaded with CBs, so I'd prefer to wait, but probably unless the G/T from NC State is there they probably are looking CB. Not sure what the possibilities of Bradbury, O'Neill or Darrisaw moving to G, or any of the guys in the draft like Linderbaum moving to G, but sometimes I think there's too much moving guys around on the OL, and you might have your 5 best guys in theory out there, but if 3 of them are playing at their secondary position, you're just outthinking yoruself.
The biggest callout by far for the Vikings is the amount of money they're paying for a bottom-5 overall defense. Part of that is personnel and part of that is scheme/coaching. Since below-average defense is becoming a trend, it's time to change both areas.
