I don't think Foster is going to play the five. I think he sees himself as a stretch four. He's 7' but really doesn't want to do all of the dirty work.

I wish Dustin Hogue's grew on trees and that tj would plant one.
Im guessing he does what’s best for the team, and plays the 5.
Everyone was talking about Hunter being the priority but Foster was #2. A lot of criticism about Jones but adding him was subtle. Depth player without infringing on Foster's sense of security or his playing time
Just because he is 7 foot does not mean he needs to be a Center
A 7 foot banger and a 7 foot stretch four, both who can run the floor, with Hunter at point...............how's that for discussion?

I would agree from an offensive standpoint, Foster's skillset has been developed through his HS & AAU play as a stretch 4. That is a unique talent that TJ can leverage.
But can he play the 4 defensively? Whether they be small ball 4's, stretch 4's or traditional 4's. That's a tall order.
If Foster doesn't have the quickness to guard opposing 4's then he is going to have to be a 5 on the defensive end. He will have to do the dirty work as a 5 or that may limit his minutes.
That or TJ is going to need to play a lot of zone.
One frustration with Prohm was he talked a good game about his guys doing the dirty work (defense & rebounding), but he allowed his scorers to be one dimensional.
That may TJ's biggest cultural challenge- having players embrace the dirty work and have a bit of a mean/toughness streak

Averaged between 17-19 points the last three years. Ball dominant and slight of build but certainly is a bucket getter.
...and mill that Hogue tree into many, many toothpicks.
Tougher defense leads to more fouls = less playing time.

Wasn't the story that MW committed or wanted to commit and ISU put him on hold?
He was all MWC defense so he definitely has the ability.
So far TJ hasn't seemed to be much of a player in UNLV guys who are transferring out other than Caleb Grill (aka Jenkins, Hamilton, etc.). Not sure if he made certain commitments to UNLV that he wouldn't poach their players/recruits when he left.
Just as likely, TJ is taking a 2-3 year approach to rebuilding the ISU program and doesn't see taking 1 year guys as a good fit. I would tend to agree. In taking a grad transfer, I think there is the expectation of playing time. Whereas, with TJ's spring recruiting, he seems to be building his 2 deep at each position to create competition.
