NBA: ***Official 2019 NBA Playoffs Thread***

Seeing the close up video of Durant's calf "pop" on his injury tonight, I wonder if he actually did tear his achilles tonight?

The way they're describing the mood in the trainer's room kind of makes you wonder, too. Downright funereal.

Didn't you all see KD dancing like crazy before he took the court? He could have been playing long before tonight. I think that's what rubs fans the wrong way. That and the fact he couldn't win an NBA title in OKC, so he just went and joined the best team in the NBA so he could get one.

Everyone hates the Warriors because they've got almost an NBA All Star team as their starting five as well. Teams like Toronto will never have that kind of talent, so it's not even a fair fight to begin with. The Warriors don't even need KD, that's a fact.

Ever heard of adrenaline or painkillers? There's any number of reasons why he was dancing around before the game. The fact that he barely made it ten minutes before the same leg gave out should tell you that he was taking a pretty big risk playing tonight.

And if the Warriors didn't need him they wouldn't be on the brink of elimination.

I'm still pulling for the Raptors big time. Absolutely can't stand the Warriors. They've ruined the NBA for me.

I kind of thought the Warriors were just following trends from years ago with the 'Big 3' types. For me what ruins it is it seems like there's more discussions about drama on teams, speculation of who's going to be traded where and when, etc. instead of just basketball.

But yeah, overall a non-Warriors team winning it would be nice.

Nope, sorry. The Warriors missed Thompson for a full game, and he wasn't 100% for another.... that is what hurt them. They won how many titles BEFORE KD or Cousins even came there? They NEVER needed KD.... it was just icing on the cake when they got him.

KD officially out with a "lower leg injury". Sounds ominous given the nature of the injury. MRI tomorrow.

Looked to me like he directly grabbed his achilles area, not the calf. Might be a strain if he could play a bit before aggravating it.

They won a whole one title before KD.

Won one and lost one without KD.

There are times that we all need the dumb button.

You might want to go check and see who won the 2016 Finals. They could have used him that year. Matter of fact I think it was Draymond Green who reached out to KD and said "We need you."

Starting to wonder how many more runs the Raptors have left in them. Golden State just keeps coming up with momentum killers.

Kawhi has been pretty quiet in the third as well. They've gotta get him going.

Also how long can Golden St rest Klay and Steph in the 4th? Their offense bogs down unless both of them are out there, too many other guys who Toronto will gladly let shoot.

You are correct, but my point still stands IMO. They would have won all their titles with or without him.

They beat OKC and Durant with just Steph, Klay, and Green in 2015. In the two seasons prior to KD arriving, they were 140-24 (including a record 73 win season), and the two seasons following KD arriving they went 125-39.

Are they better with Durant.... of course they are. But they still would have won those titles without him IMO. And Durant likely would still have no rings had he not joined the best team in the league to get one.
