Yeah, it would be pretty ballsy for the Thunder to try and move him. And I'm not sure how much interest there would be for him around the league anyway. He's a blast to watch when he's on. But he's got some things working against him right now - age (he's 30), declining athleticism, and an inconsistent jumper in what's become a shooter's league. And there's four years and 170 million dollars left on his contract. Who's signing up for that, let alone giving away assets for it?
Doesn't the NBA have a rule where you have to match (within a few percentage points) the money to make a deal work? Someone is going to have to give up waaaaaay too much to match Westbrook's contract. Not worth. I could see someone like the Lakers going after Paul George if that are unable to get Anthony Davis.
Last night was a prime example of what's wrong with Russ, OKC was up 15 with 7 minutes to go, 8 with 4 minutes to go. I know the NBA is a game of runs but he was taking shots 8-10 seconds into the shot clock when they really needed to use the clock to their advantage. He can get his shots literally any time he chooses, why not burn some clock before you attack? The charge he was called for late was a perfect example, no reason to force that shot with time left on the shot clock and he got called for a foul anyway, Portland knew that OKC was desperate for a bucket and that Russ would force it. Then he had a frustration foul the next trip down after a missed basket. The guy is a great player and amazing athlete but the elite players prove it in the playoffs, it appears he doesn't have it between the ears to be one of those kinds of players. Great player, low bball IQ.

It just goes to show that the max contract was actually too low just a few years ago when many teams were fighting over the chance to pay Joe Johnson max money. Sounds crazy suggesting NBA players were underpayed, but they were not that long ago.
If max deals were still what they were then all 30 teams would be thinking of a way they could pay for a few years of Westbrook's contract.
Georges got a lot of time in the Jazz game last night. A playoff elimination game for them, on the road, and he was getting time in the 1st quarter and throughout the game, which stayed competitive all the way up to the end. Great to see he's earning the trust of his coaching staff and teammates. He had a really nice assist that Reggie Miller complimented him on, and I saw at least one layup from him. Haven't checked the box score to see his totals, though.
I thought the Warriors looked kind of annoyed by the fact that the Clips refused to just lay down. Their arrogance is unbelievable. When you have guys like Klay Thompson already openly talking about the Rockets before the series is even over that tells you an awful lot about where they are mentally. It's probably too much to ask the Clips to take two more wins and the series but I hope they at least push Golden State to a Game 7. They're a fun team to watch, and if they can snag Kawhi Leonard and another max player this offseason they're going to be really dangerous next year.

I'd put Houston in the same category as GS. It'd be nice to see a team win that wasn't a "super team" full of stud free agents. We haven't see a team like that win since GS's first ring.
The Warriors actually look beatable this year. The drop off from KD-Klay-Steph to everyone else is actually big and they used to have an insane bench/depth but that's all gone too. Andre Iggy is getting old, Bogut was desperation signing after the loss of Boogie and Draymond is not the utility player he used to be.
The problem is, no one can match that 3 headed monster the Warriors have. Even though they look beatable they're still the reigning champs.

I sure hope Harden and the Rockets are eliminated quick, I cant stand to watch Harden play anymore with all his antics regardless of how good he is. If he would just play the game that'd be great to watch a guy like him.
Clippers are the last type of team a 1 seed wants to get. Passionate, chip on shoulder and they weren't playing like an 8 seed in the weeks before the playoffs.
This is a year where I'd take the 5, 6, 7, and 8 seeds and flip them upside down in terms of how they are playing right now. (although 5 played maybe just a little better than 6)
GSW should prevail but it's definitely more work for them than an 8 seed on a given year.
Milwaukee is as opposite of that as you could dream up. I mean #1 seed Milwaukee as a thing is already the most unique thing about the NBA this year.
