***Official 2019-2020 Transfer Thread***

Who do you have starting over him assuming Harris has to sit out? Jackson? Bolton moving over?

It would probably be PG by committee. I don’t trust any of those guys to be the full time ballhandler. Ideally you get JCL and hope a more established PG becomes available later on.

JCL will start Day 1 imo.. if we don’t have T Harris this year it would go

PG- Tre or Transfer
SG- Bolton
SG- JCL
SF- Javon
C- SY

Conditt
Tre
XF

etc...

JCL is 6’5 and can shoot and score.. Had really good games vs really good teams last year

Seems to me the only way Coleman-Lands wouldn't start is if Harris is eligible immediately and ISU starts 2 bigs.

Even if one of the freshman is a stud, I don't see Prohm starting them during the non-con.
He doesn’t seem good enough to be a guaranteed starter. I guess Nixon started though so yeah he probably will start

IMO Prohm only goes after a grad-transfer if he thinks the player is starter material. And that doesn't mean he is guaranteed to start. A good combo guard 6th man could easily play 25-30mpg. Starter minutes.

If I look at ISU's roster, I don't think we are far off from finishing 4-6 in the Big12 and that would be without some big gains by guys like Conditt or Jackson in the off-season. Or a freshman surprise.

We don't need a go-to scorer from a grad transfer, we only need a consistent 3rd scorer. I look at it this way.

Bolton option #1: 16-18 ppg
Johnson option #2:. 13-15 ppg
Coleman-Lands #3: 11-13 ppg
Young #4: 10-12 ppg
Conditt #5: 10-12 ppg

Brown would be a homerun get for me. A physical 4 who can be a 1B option on offense.

Harris could be a 2B or 3 scorer if eligible.

IMO if Jackson can be an 8ppg guy and the freshman 4 give ISU another 8-12ppg we can score with most Big12 teams.

The reality is we are close. The keys are going to be the intangibles of toughness, execution & confidence. That show up in defense and rebounding.

If Harris were to be eligible and you add he and JCL to the group of four we have coming back, I think that's solid. Probably not a tourney team without getting two more big 12 quality players out of Johnson and the freshmen but I think it's competitive.

If that were how the roster were looking and I were Prohm, I would only really be looking at home run type of guys. No reason to gamble on a questionable schollie when you have a transfer and 4 incoming freshman who appear to have what you're looking for as far as skill set and athleticism. May as well gamble on them.

If Harris were to be eligible and we land JCL, we’re a tournament team in my opinion

Harris, Bolton, JCL, Johnson, and Young is a group that can score. Foster could give us an option to have 5 capable shooters on the floor. Jackson should be a better shooter next year, and is a pesky defender. That’s a solid 7 imo.

Conditt is serviceable, when he wants to be. At least one of Walker, Dubar, and Blackwell will surprise and be ready ftp
the start imo. All 4 give us great length.

JCL does not compare to Nixon at all. He was a top 40 recruit out of high school. He has 235 made 3’s at 36% and has scored over 1000 points at the power 6 level.

I doubt we can land him but he starts for sure.

It sounds like Brown isn’t happening, but he alongside our other additions would have made this team poised for a huge year over year improvement.

This is an overdose of koolaid. If you take the low end of all your averages plus Jackson and the freshman, that’s 80 points per game. That’s not happening. Brown isn’t coming here, so you can forget that. Conditt would have to take a huge step forward to average double figures, which I guess can happen but I’m not counting on it. The reality is we are coming off a 20 loss season in which we are losing our best player and lottery pick. Prohm needs to do some damage on these last 3 scholarships for us to come close to the tournament next year. You can’t rely on these freshman next year after an offseason of no workouts on campus.

Glad someone said it. And if Bolton is option 1 on offense we are in big trouble.
