Same guy who tweeted this. Nixon played HS at Bolingbrook in Illinois where this Garrison fellow coaches. He also coached Zion Griffin in AAU.
Looks like kind of a chucker, but I don’t mind chuckers because at least they can score. Probably a decent defender considering who he played for. His #1 comp on kenpom is Reed Timmer so that is promising.
Idk how to link tweets to CF but in his goodbye tweet he mentioned talking things over with his family, AAU and high school coaches before making his decision to leave. Gotta think that gives Prohm a punchers chance.
Another one of LE’s guys worth taking a look at is Nico Charvaco. Can rebound and score around the

Didn’t put up great numbers at MSU but he was recruited by ISU back when he left Louisiana Tech. Doubt ISU takes a look but the name rang a bell because he was one of the first targets prohm had when he got hired.
ISU also offered Eli Wright. Highly ranked (#80) Shooting Guard out of KY. I agree Stapleton probably isn't a target but I could see the staff making a call to Eli.

Your post makes me feel very good about the long-term health of the program. Little-by-little, Prohm is collecting quite the set of pieces and stack of talent. Yes, Hoiberg left him some good seniors and juniors, but everything we have now is his.
Hypothetically, we land Mooney and Wiggington stays.
That gives us a guard rotation next year (for 3.5 spots, assuming Lard starts and Young and Jacobson fight it out to play the remainder) of...

That is a lot of playing time opening up. If Lewis, Griffin, Haliburton, and the like have a problem with it being behind so many talented seniors, then I hope Prohm tells them to either (1.) get better, earn your spot or (2.) stick around a year and we are going to have a line change. I want you to be ready. In the meantime, I need you to push them in practice to make them better and yourself better for when it is your turn. We would be ready for turnover.
I think that is exactly what Prohm wants and exactly what he was saying when he wanted to "stay old," have experience in the program, and promote from within.
Is it just me, or does our fan base stress out more than others do on 'who' might be offended/leave or 'what player' may not get as much playing time as they want if we try and build an even more talented, deep roster to compete with the big boys? I don't care whether Orr, Floyd, Eustachy, Holberg, Prohm, or whatever coach it is, likes to play mostly 6 or 7 guys, it just seems to me that plenty of the elite 8 teams had lots of talent on their bench and it was a 'good' problem to have. Heck, I think Loyola had more consistent perimeter scorers and a deeper rotation than we've had several seasons.
Prohm’s tried to go farther than 6 or 7, but the talent wasn’t there due to how prolonged the coaching transition was in terms of recruiting.
I agree it's important to worry about the present and stack your roster as much as possible, however, there can be unintented consequences as well. Players like Lewis and Griffin are two giant building blocks for our future. Land a grad transfer like Mooney and they are all but removed from the rotation next year. You can't help but worry about them being POd they were recruited over and transferring out. Even if they stick with the program hard to develop riding the bench. At the end of the day you have to recruit as much talent as possible.
It wasn't the scoring or rotation that I envied with Loyola, but their elite defense and passing. If we can improve in those two areas next year, we'll be in great shape.

Transferring and waiting a year would slow them down, not speed them up.
I don't know. Players seem to have such big egos or should I say extreme confidence in themselves, majority of them wanting to play in the league. You wouldn't think they would look at it as "getting recruited over", but I get your point. Would hope they would compete like heck and have an all-in team mindset next season. But I know, they've invested too much to be getting less than desired minutes.
I realize that. Not blaming Prohm for that, nor disagreeing with a main 6 or 7, especially if that's all you got. Just pointing out that plenty of teams fans don't worry about filling the roster with talented guys if you have a shot at them and may the best guys rise to the top!
