MLB: ***Official 2018 Chicago Cubs Season Thread***

J-Hey is a stud!

He just needs to call his shot to right field....then lay down a bunt. That will get his groove back.
Something needs to change status quo....I know we are all rooting for him. At least I am. I think the Ricketts have good PR management with this group....I can't really think of a DB player on this squad...they all seem to act graciously from my vantage point....

A little something from several years ago on Heyward's decline in power at the dish.

Also note in this pic Heyward was crowding the extents of the batter's box years ago.

This video is from last night. The box is barely discernible, but he appears to have his foot in about the same position as 2014 above.

- Heyward didn't start so far away from the plate until this year. It's a Chili Davis thing in an attempt to stop the ground outs to the right side.

- Weird how this lineup has scored 8 runs with no Schwarber or Happ and only 1 homerun

So far in the fourth inning, Schwarber and Happ are the only Cubs to have all three of the hits and the one run.

Glad to see we are keeping last year's tradition of following a promising game with an *** kicking

I don't like this tradition of the Cubs this year to lose to garbage teams.

(Yes, the Pirates are currently in first place, however they'll eventually be a mid-to-bottom team as the year progresses.)

To be fair, yesterday's game was just as much of an ass kicking as this one is.

I get what you are saying, but it's frustrating to see the beginning of this year play out just like all of last years. Bats get hot for one game and completely disappear the next. No consistency. No ability to manufacture some runs when we aren't hitting.

Consistency would be good. Hendricks was good enough to win this today, and then the usually-reliable bullpen blows up.

Runs could have been scored today. Pittsburgh's pitching isn't some juggernaut, but we're making it look impossible.
