You would think that standing that far off the plate would allow you to try and hit every pitch to the opposite field, but instead Heyward tries to pull everything. This coaching staff needs to clamp down a bit and demand some changes in hitting approach of several players.

It should not be physically impossible to hit a gapper on that pitch in that situation.
Pitcher was at his mercy and he just can't do it.

I never notice how far off the plate Heyward stands until this year. You'd think he'd need like a 60 inch bat to hit anything outside.

His heels are pretty much on the chalk. He should be able to hit almost any strike to the opposite field, yet he tries to pull everything. Oh, and he’s almost always late on fastballs, which would also lend itself to the opposite field, but no, he refuses. He is an enigma. He gets the barrel on it often but it is usually bad contact.
