MLB: ***Official 2018 Chicago Cubs Season Thread***

Im afraid its going to be yet again this year.

I'm also getting tired of watching Baez cork screw himself into the ground every time he swings.
This team could probably win 110 games if the offense was consistent. Pretty crazy that we win 90+ even when our offense is garbage half the time.

@ESPNChiCubs: Maddon: "We have to do better than 19 or 20 punch outs....We tried to do too much. I don't want to say over swinging, not sure that's a term, but trying to do too much. A little too big in situations."

Gotta say I was impressed how well Butler pitched. Sucks the offense couldn't have won that game in 9 though. Just 2 games in but the bullpen has been solid and used heavily. Need some long starts by Darvish and Quintana to rest them now.

I think I'd rather put an accountant turned goalie at the plate than risk having any outfielder on our roster not named Zobrist out there.

Happ has 6 strikeouts in 9 at bats against some of the worst pitching he will see all year. Heyward stands two feet away from the plate and can't reach the outside corner of the plate. 2018 Schwarber looks like 2017 Schwarber but 50 pounds lighter.

Also - how about Zo? Said a few weeks ago he feels healthier now than he did at any point in 2017. Definitely looked good last night, hope it carries over

Heyward misses that pitch every time. Seriously, every time.
