MLB: ***Official 2018 Chicago Cubs Season Thread***

It wasn't even close. Shouldn't have mattered. Could have seen that from upper deck.

Happens. The first angle they showed on the replay you could see how it could've been missed if you were standing behind the play (like the ump was). Guess what, it didn't matter anyway.

Only Baez can make a slide like that to avoid the tag.

And on the other side of the coin, Baez could make the tag on that errant throw to still get the out.

Does WAR consider plays like that?

That was a brutal call from the ump to call Javy out. Wasn't even close. Story should know you don't try to get Javy out on the base paths. Cost his team a couple runs

Just imagine if he improves his "Don't be Alphonso Soriano with 2 strikes instinct". Dude would be the best player in the game.
He seems to growing up before our eyes at the plate.

Soriano was a 30+ year old free swinger. Baez has so much room to grow, and I’ve said it before... his hands are so friggin’ good. He could hit .330 with power with just a little bit of discipline.

Really digging Javy ahead of Bryzzo in the lineup. He just forces things to happen
I love it too. It adds so much more energy at the top of the lineup. And I think it will help and has already helped Javy's approach at the plate. Rather than trying to be the hero to score runs at the bottom of the lineup before the pitcher spot, now he just has to get on base and things will happen with Bryzzo behind him. I think taking that pressure off his shoulders could turn him into an offensive star

I really wish WGN would have the K zone on their telecast. I dont care if it hurts the umps feelers. It makes for better viewing.

It’s especially nice for road games. I’m used to the camera angle from Wrigley, but other parks can be a mystery.

When Heyward gets triple on you it's not your night. Congrats on this game tonight, and hopefully we can show up tomorrow.
