MLB: ***Official 2018 Chicago Cubs Season Thread***

There is no logical connection between making money and tiebreaker rules. They will make money regardless of the tiebreaker rules.

They made that decision. They make lots of decisions. It’s made them lots of money. Their decisions help make them money. Logic.

I don't think you're quite grasping that just because they make money doesn't make them smart. They will make money regardless because it's a product that people want. They could do a lot of dumb things and still make a lot of money. They could make even more money by doing smarter things. Logic.

You haven't heard this before? People complained about the All Star game having an effect on the World Series. Players have said they'd prefer to not play so many games. MLB's blackout restrictions has to be one of the dumbest things in the world. There is no way they're making money off that. Seems pretty dumb to me. I know you're just being an idiotic troll right now but at least make a little bit of an effort.

If shortening the season is an issue for MLB in terms of money, I got a few solutions.

1. End your dumb blackout rule

2. Make it 150 games and give teams a weekly day off

3. Expand the playoffs.

People aren’t watching MLB mid season. They are watching playoffs.

No matter what would happen, end the blackout rule. That rule is asinine.

Cubs lost. Logic.

You could just as easily question the logic of needing a 163rd data point on a season or a 20th data point on a single season series that was 11-8.

It's no big deal because it didn't work out where LA/CO got an advantage over the Brewers/Cubs, but if it had that's some BS that the best record in the NL results your pitching staff being less fresh than a team that could be 10 games worse in the standings.

I remember what a nervous wreck I was in 2015 for the Wild Card game. Don't quite have that same feeling going into tonight. Hoping for the best but with the way this year has gone it may be time to put this team to rest.

Because we are playing Bote over Heyward. That should tell you something.

All I know is if the Cubs don't move on the Brewers better stay this 10 wins in a row team with a star player who is an automatic hit machine and not revert back to their average form they had around midseason.

Don't count on it, we're talking about the Brewers, after all.

Agreed. After 2016, Cubs are just a normal franchise now without this 108 year old cloud hanging over it. It’s quite nice.
