This would be a let down in my eyes. Kid averaged 5 a game freshman year and 10 a game sophomore year at Troy. Nobody else on our level even sniffing around him

yeah he took those but the article I read said he will be taking more visits but he won't reveal what schools he will be visiting for some reason.
I would say Houston maybe, but ISU is in power 5 conference and Nevada definitely isn't on ISU's level.
Man, I am hoping Kane lives up to his billing the next few rounds in Ames.

Well he doubled his total from Frosh to Soph. Which means that he will go from 10 to 20ppg in his Jr campaign and 40ppg his senior year. (jimlad)

Outside looking in I understand your point. But I always look at the people running the team and Eric Musselman is a hell of a coach
Not super exciting but looks like he would be a good fit. Looks like a true big wing player with a lot of length and a nice shot.
I look at this a lot like evaluating high school kids (but with better competition to do so). They may see something in a kid's game that would fit much better in what we do than it does in what they did.
They're good programs. 6'7 wing; maybe a Talley kind of player? I know he didn't play much this year, but he always seemed like he belonged at this level.
Our staff knows that state. Sampson knows talent, too.
He’s a long 6’7” decent athlete with some shooting guard skills due to being sub-6’2” until his junior year of HS. Get him now before he blows up after taking a year to fill out and refine his game. With the upcoming redshirt, he’ll be only a year “ahead” of current high school recruits, and you know a lot more about his game translating from Troy than you do some high school.
However, we have three openings and need help for next year. It’s tough to hold one back for a guy that was average at Troy, and potentially similar to Lewis (or even Griffin). He’s an instant take if one of those guys leave.
