I haven't really seen him play or will be an advocate for the staff to go after him. That said he obviously was highly thought of out of high school, ISU has an opening for an additional SF/PF and he is from Chicago area so ISU is a close school he could be interested in. Just an intriguing option with 3 scholly's open IMO.
To be fair we don't know William's situation, I notices some rumbling that he was suspended a couple of games and probably in Groce's doghouse. I wouldn't hold mediocre numbers as a sophomore against any player as all develop differently plus roster construction could have played in.
Afterall Burton numbers 1.5 years at Marquette weren't anything to get excited about and had some questions about his attitude when ISU took him, That worked out well for Prohm.
I think there are probably a couple of better options out there if we need to resort to taking a low-floor high potential guy like Kasongo was. Maybe Micah Thomas from Maryland or the Robinson kid from Rice.
But Burton specifically said that Marquette didn't have a place for him because he was an undersized post so the circumstances are different.
Fair enough. Does ISU have a place for a 6-7 forward that put up 2ppg? Think we're pretty set at that position with Lard, Kasongo and Young.
We're in the mix still, or hasn't been indicated otherwise. I think what happens with Brase this week is a big indicator on how we pursue him

Still think team needs a guard. Probably best to wait for a late name to pop up but Hunt looks to be better than that Monty Boykins player we've been sorta tied to.
