***Official 2017 Transfer Thread***

Fair enough. I still hope the staff banks a scholarship in case a real good opportunity comes along at semester since our options are fairly limited at the moment. Which could change I guess, never know.

I agree. Chris Allen, Royce White and Deandre Kane didn't transfer until July of their respective summers. There's going to be a name pop up late and staff would be well suited to have a scholarship to offer.

I read that Alstork wasn't exactly the worlds greatest teammate. Maybe our staff decided that the potential headache outweighed the talent.

Randy Peterson noted on CycloneInsidert noted that he had texted Alstork to see if ISU was still in the picture earlier this week. The text back was "you'd have to ask them". I think it is safe to say the staff didn't see him as a fit. It would have been underdog to get his services in any case.

I'll also conclude that they don't think he's that good.

Either way I'd hope the staff has their sights set on better targets than a sit 1 play 1 transfer who only put up 6 ppg in the Missouri Valley conference.

Is it play 1 because he's already transferred once from WKU?

The thing is, I'm not certain Prohm would take even one of them. Two of them he for sure wouldn't.

There's a reason Michigan immediately took another guy instead of waiting for him. They are in a similar position to us where it'd be really nice to have a scoring guard but there are also quality options, even if young, so exposing the young guys to a poor teammate, in the long run, isn't worth it. I think Prohm will always stick to not bringing in guys he thinks will be poor teammates no matter how desperate times get.

Not the best numbers but the 2 years to play makes him a little intriguing if staff is still looking for a guard.

6-5 196 lbs

6.7 ppg 2.2 rpg 1.2 apg in 20 minutes per game. Shot 35% from 3.

What level of basketball was he playing at? It looks like he was at Fordham, and transferred to Adelphi University.

Edit- never mind- DII
Right here's proof of how difficult the transfer market is if Creighton is looking at a former DII player.
ISU fans (myself included) need to be reminded of this when we don't land the guys we think we should. Props that Prohm is at least still able to get visits from high level transfers.

Isn't landing 1 (2 if lucky) of your first choice transfers probably the norm? We are lucky that Iowa State was even mentioned with some of those guys. Mixed with recruiting high quality out of high school, we just need to land a couple high quality transfers (per year) and we are headed in the right direction. I would take landing one or two out of the list we had this year any time.

Yes, you're completely right. I think why it is so hard for some of our fans this year, is because we have been mentioned in a bunch of players' top 3 or so destinations, but have also missed on all but 1 of them.

People are over reacting to our misses, but that is because we need fillers and have missed on a lot of the highest of profile. All will be well, but I understand how people can get anxious with how things have gone.

Yeah, and the last list that I saw had Beverly as #9 on best available transfers. Now that was after the first wave of guys were off the board, but I'd still say he's in the top 30 of desirable transfers pretty easily. Combine that with Shayok, who I'd put in the top 10 or 15 of available transfers that have to sit, and a stellar freshman class, and it's hard to find a complaint with the work they're doing.

Per Jon Rothstein twitter:

UNC-Wilmington's C.J. Bryce has received his full release to transfer, per a source. Averaged 17.4 PPG and 5.4 RPG last season.

I would guess he'll follow his coach to NCSt. 3 for 2 guy
