***Official 2017 Transfer Thread***

I'd be interested if we had a need. I just don't think we do.

I'm not sure we need a backup PG to sit out, however Wigginton can play off ball (so can Long), so I could see it, if we miss out on Morrow/Brown/Juiston, then we may give him a look.

how many years would Long be eligible for? Set 1 play 2? With D jack leaving could be a nice back up to Wigginton. He could also be a better addition then Green in the 18 class.

I wonder if there is any interest in Long, or if he is interested in ISU.

We all saw him play pretty well against ISU (out-played his brother that day, imho), and I watched a couple of his other games this year. He is a good scorer. Not as good of a shooter as Naz, but not far behind either, plus he is only a sophomore.

In regards to LW, his backup will possibly be McNeil in future years, unless CSP sees him as the 2 guard.

Looking forward to see who else ISU lands, and how this all works out.

I guarantee Eli is hoping ISU extends something. I seriously thought that last year before the tournament a huge part in him sending that twitter message to naz and Iowa state was to get in our good graces (not that he wasn't already). But I, unfortunately, not see that happening. He is a solid player but not a position of need for us this year.

I hope he goes to a competitive high mid-major and makes a name for himself

Long would be an obvious replacement for Jackson but I wonder if Prohm won't be looking for a bit more size to go with Wigginton and Shayok ala Lewis or Moss. I would think he would be in direct competition with McNeill for time in the rotation which is fine but we may not have room after the prep priorities. Thompson, Moss for sure and maybe Green.

Pretty sure the plan is for Winninton to be the PG next year and with McNeil, Babb, Shayok, and Long manning the SG and backup PG. At this point I don't see Prohm using another sit out scholly (with Shayok) for a PG next year more likely a Post IMO.
Long may be a solid player but doesn't have great size at the B12 level and didn't show elite speed or shot to make up for that. He was fun to watch in Hilton and has some quickness but likely would be as a backup and I don't like the idea of using a RS on a transfer for a backup PG. Best of luck to him.
