NBA: ***Official 2016-17 NBA Regular Season Thread***

Man, all those middle aged losers sure showed KD what's up with their signs and boos!!

Tomorrow they'll be back in their comfort zone of middle management and yelling at the high school kid that forgot the whip on their frappucino!

Congrats.

Hilarious that the best they could do was to call him a "cupcake".

I loved the part where Westbrook was trash talking KD, telling him "I'm coming", while OKC was down 20.

OKC fans should boo him. He's the reason KD isn't there anymore. He's garbage.

It cracks me up when people rip on fans for doing what makes being a fan fun and actually injecting emotion in an NBA game.

What were they supposed to do. Sit around and logically discuss how if KD wants a ring the move makes sense?

Things are starting to happen on the trade front -

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...-andersen-charlotte-hornets-clear-roster-spot

The Cavs dumped the Birdman to clear a roster spot.

And in the West, the Blazers and Nuggets swapped a couple of stiffs.

Makes some sense for Denver, I guess. Nurkic had become a malcontent. Looks like a move toward the future for Portland. I wonder if they're putting up the white flag for this season. They're only a game behind Denver for the eight seed in the West.

Oh man those OKC fans really got burned by this message board loser posting about how lame they are.

He really showed them.

Don't watch as much nba as I used to. Kind of shocked to see Utah as the current 4 seed in the West.

They're a little like the Celtics of the West. Great group of role players, good coach, ready made supporting cast for a superstar. All they're missing is the superstar. Hayward has become a much better pro than I ever expected. If Utah ever decided to blow it up and start over he could absolutely be the third best player on a championship contender, maybe the second best.

Russ dropped 50 that game... KD left because he wanted a championship right now

Interesting, I feel like Orlando won this trade

Serge is actually having a pretty decent season averaging almost 15 a game and 7 boards. I think it's probably more so looking ahead to the first round pick (which gives them a later pick along with the other two in hand).

I wouldn't really say either side lost here, I think this was a mutual win-win.

Interesting. You think that closes the gap in the East or is it still Cleveland and then everyone else?
To the point above, I see this giving Toronto more of an interior presence. They've got one of the most efficient offenses in the league and Serge should complement that. While they have been better in second chance points and points in the paint, the missing component from their interior is the rebounding, imo.

Ibaka should help cover the boards and provide a better stretch defensively which is where they "needed" the help (they're below average in DRTG and near the bottom in REB%). Overall, they probably didn't need to make the move but I see it as their attempt to make a competitive push to go for a run.

I think this definitely makes things more interesting in the East and it'll tighten the race for sure.

On the surface it looks OK. But the Magic basically turned Victor Oladipo, Ersan Elyasova, and Domantas Sabonis into Terrence Ross and a late first rounder. Orlando's GM isn't exactly killing it.
True I totally forgot about that, I just think having 2 first round picks in this draft is huge and Ross is a decent player
