Official 2015 Hoiberg NBA Speculation Thread

He can't say he's leaving because there is no job to leave for at this time. He is either still deciding (hopefully), or he's made his decision to leave and is just waiting for the job to officially open.

That's not necessarily true. The Bulls job isn't open, but the Magic, Pelicans, and Timberwolves* jobs are. Fred can definitely say that he will be coaching in the NBA next year, but where is still yet to be determined.

1. I thought Flip has already said he's coaching next year in Minnesota?

2. The Magic and Pelicans jobs are currently open. Those teams would have no reason to keep hiring Hoiberg a secret, so by the process of elimination CFH vaguely saying he'll be in the NBA next year quickly leads to Chicago. If he's being quiet out of professional courtesy, releasing a vague statement on which NBA team he'll be with doesn't serve any purpose in that regard.

I still don't think he knows. He might ultimately leave, but I don't think he's made a decision yet. It's not like there aren't a lot of factors in play at the moment, given his surgery, unfinished business, the Bulls' mess of a front office, etc.

Sources have told me that Fred is sleeping right now. I'm not, but Fred probably is. He'll probably wake up in about an hour or two, so just hang on.

Paige graduates from Gilbert this weekend. Someone go up to him and get the scoop directly from him at graduation ceremonies. Has anyone staked out his house yet? Someone last week wanted to track flights to Chicago. The soap opera continues.

So come out and say "Hey guys, In coaching in the NBA next year. I'm not sure where yet, but I'm pretty awesome, so I know I'll get one of these jobs for sure."

Im sorry but if you don't think Fred knows what he's doing next year you're not very smart.

Yes someone please stalk Hoiberg at the Gilbert High graduation .

Someone please camp out at the DSM airport and anothe camp out at the ames airport. Some please campout at the Omaha Airport just in case and be on the look out for him.

We were told a week ago this is about to heat up and the process will be a fast one. Some thought by the end of the weekend a move would be made. We were told 36 hours ago we will know more in 24 hours. Yet we know no more now than we knew 4 weeks ago.

Except for people actually in the know. Chris said earlier this week something like "this could drag on for awhile". But according to people NOT in the know, there has already been 3 or 4 team meetings where Fred has said he's leaving...

I just woke up, he gone yet?

We are still "He Gone" free today.
