I contend that we are pretty much screwed no matter what, so I'd take another year of Hoiberg and delay the pain for a year.

Fact is that there will only be two right times for Fred to leave Iowa State and it will be for health reasons or a move to athletic director. Nobody is going to ever think it is right for him to leave Iowa State.
 
The thing that would make me laugh is if Fred does leave and Otz does get hired, then there's a good chance John Walters would have some sort of forum to set the record straight like he did when Fred got hired. I think the tone around here would change pretty quickly after that.
