Not sure how credible this is but this guy is a DM attorney:

Mark Hinshaw ‏@LawOfficesofMRH 4m4 minutes ago Fred Hoiberg is gone. ISU AD just returned from Atlanta where Iowa State coaching search firm Parker Executive Search is located.

His website is hawkeyedivorce, so it's probably just a BS hok fan. Never mind.

Seems like a lot of travel time and expense just to hire Otzelberger, doesn't it?

Why would he need to meet face to face with a search firm? I'm not saying he couldn't have been traveling due to CFH leaving, just don't buy he would need to meet face to face with a search firm.

Since Thibs is still the Bulls coach, JP can't 'know' that Hoiberg is gone. But I'm sure he's getting things lined up in case the scenario unfolds that Fred leaves. However, I too agree that it would be a waste of money/time to have a face-to-face with a search firm. Just video-conference any discussions for now.

I believe in letting history be our guide. Larry Coker in 2015-16. If he's not available then Bruce Weber on a one year deal.

@LawOfficesofMRH I have no sources people and I'm not a journalist. My opinion strictly. I meant for my 50 followers to see this.

Agreed, but Jamie has always done things face to face. Heck he drove up to see Fred when he first hired him.

OK, that gives him “humility points.â€￾ I temporarily rescind my previous criticism about the missing comma.

is the 2015 version of:

(Not necessarily in that order)

If he does leave, I hope he at least has a press conference in Ames and takes questions from the media. Also, I would hope the local media would ask some tough questions about his decision.

Driving from Ames to Minneapolis to meet face to face with a coach candidate is a lot different than flying to Atlanta to meet with a search firm. Maybe there were candidates there, I don't know. Just doesn't make much sense to me.
