If Fred does indeed leave for the Bulls, Matt Freese will be my new avatar since he heard first.

I'm not a journalist and don't know their rules, so please forgive me for this stupid question. Has any of the local media tried to talk to Fred, and if not why haven't they?

No. Fred hasn't tweeted in about a month either. He really doesn't do many interviews to begin with.

Re: BLUM: The Mayor's dilemma

In my opinion, I hope he doesn't justify any move as trying to set up tj for success. That's just stupid. Once Fred leaves the national buzz Iowa state has will be gone. And the best Iowa state can hope for is a mad Fran level of success and national attention. I'd much rather he try and go out on top. And in no situation is it better for Iowa state for him to leave sooner rather than later. None. That point in the article is crazy and just trying to to make everyone happy when tj is the new coach. And I doubt that he will care with his large salary, but it will be pretty hard for tj to last long here no matter what team he is left with. Replacing an elite coach is hard enough. Replacing a legend is near impossible. See Wayne Morgan. There's a lot of buzz by people in the know and a lot of justification about him leaving that I think the rumors are not really rumors anymore.
what???

I wouldn't mind him seeing in Minnesota.

1. He's near the Mayo Clinic
2. Minnesota is the closest NBA team to Ames in case he wants to come back to the great city
3. Bulls are in basketball hell (they are average which is worse than sucking). T'Wolves have Wiggins, a young team, and the 2016 #1 overall pick. Also he gets along with Flip well.

I'm going to be upset if he heads for Chicago, but I'm not going to complain too much if he decides Minnesota. Better opportunity for him.

This is me after trying to catch up after not reading this thread for a few hours...

I just recently watched Real Genius. I love that movie!

This has nothing to do with nothing. Just something i heard once.

I had a friend that used to work at an apt building once where a pro athlete stashed a girl he liked to hook up with that wasn't his wife. Cuz he was in the process of signing with another team, my friend was asked to contact her to set up a move out. Home girl was apparently completely in the dark, flipped out and called her man. He then called the owner at which point Dude got word from the bosses that she wasn't going anywhere and to stay tuned. Kind of sucked for their leasing team as they already had the apartment rented but as the saying goes, **** happens. The guy ended up resigning with the hometown team early the next month.

Can't really get into any details at all because of privacy issues other then to say the events transpired at some point in the last thirty years and it's all true. Or so I'm told. And no matter what you think you know, you probably know nothing at all. I know, cool story brah.

However since it is so late in the coaching search for us, I don't think there are any options better for us in the 2015-16 campaign. Marshall seems committed to the Shockers, I'm not sure about Mark Jackson, and I'm not sold on JH. We may be best off with Hoiberg, but he is on a short leash this season considering what he is putting us through with all this uncertainty. Nobody is bigger than the program.

1. There are good Doc in Chicago or if he needs to go to the Mayo Clinic he can afford a private jet flight.
2. He wont have much time to get back to Ames coaching in the NBA if he want he can always afford a private jet flight.
3. Chicago is always a better job than the T-Wolves. Its the NBA you can always make roster moves.

1. He is close enough in Ames.
2. He is already in Ames.
3. ISU is more like heaven than Chicago or Minnesota.

so the Bulls are average having gone to the eastern semis but the Twolves are in great shape coming off a 16 win season?
