Official 2015 Hoiberg NBA Speculation Thread

I never used the word "proof" and never referenced Paige (although that makes sense now) nor Matt leaving due to this....But if you think we lost out on Williams and Diallo (not a shoe in at that point, but we got booted from the running) only because Matt left, and not because Fred would not give them his word he would be coach in 2016, I question how you and Rholtgraves find your way home at night...

Yeah it wasn't just that Matt left. Diallo was also waiting to see who left for the NBA from KU and UK. Once Cliff left it was basically over. He formed a connection with Embiid and how KU has developed bigs. Williams was Matts recruit and wanted to go with Matt especially since he will be a bigger part of the team then he would at ISU. Did Babb just not care about Fred being the coach? Or what about Noskowiak?
You think they actually said "give me your word you will be coach next year?" Yeah right

Since we're on to a new page, I think it is appropriate to post:

1. Fred is still employed by ISU
2. Meltdown is still on

I just saved a couple hundred people several minutes of their day.

You keep telling yourself that.....Babb and Noskowiak had relationships with TJ...Diallo and Williams did not...

Bulls will have to trade Gibson or Noah and will likely have to get rid of the other when contract is up to make room for Butler getting Max, Gasol is old and maybe has one more good year in him. Rose is not the same player. They may not be able to resign Dunleavy because of cap space. So it's post injury Rose, Butler and Mirotic, Snell, McDermott and??? Not exactly a championship team. That and they have a hard time getting big time free agents because of the front office.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Hoiberg's operation was a routine valve replacement due to wear-and-tear, correct? Some people make it sound like he had a heart attack and had to be rushed to the hospital for "health concerns"

But...but...but, they're in the East so they have the "easier road to the finals", which is of course all relative, and then there's the whole LeBron factor and woohoo so you get to the finals and then get bich slapped by whoever comes out of the West in the finals.

I don't think I would ever consider what Fred is going through as completely routine. It's still the heart - that's serious in and of itself. He's living on a pacemaker, taking blood thinners the rest of his life and whatever else. It was known and planned, that's about the only upside of the whole event. So in comparision to what happened to JP - Fred didn't have the "near death" experience that Jamie did. But in the long run - I'm not sure which is better off, but I'd have to think JP. Cardiologist in the room?

Wait so some recruits follow their recruiter and others don't based on whether you say so?

LOL, you are are like talking to a tree...Yes, some follow their recruiter, some don't ...But I doubt almost any go to a program where the HC and their main recruiter are gone.....which would have been the case for Williams and Diallo...

It wasn't a heart attack but it was open heart surgery. My wife had a valve repair which is a grade level less serious than Fred's. It took her a summer to recover. Fred is younger and in great physical shape, but he will still be in recovery for a while. Seriously doubt he can handle an NBA head coach job for 9 or 10 hours per day yet.
