Official 2014 Recruiting thread

Call me a hater, doubter, whatever, but I've had this feeling for awhile that he's not going to be all that good at the next level. Anyone who feels the need to hype them-self traditionally isn't all that great.

Personally, I think Syria is a better back, in fact, I'd put Mister at the bottom of our RB recruiting list.

The kid loves drama and attention. He said two weeks ago that he'd decide in a week or two. He recently said the same thing. Commit to Indiana already.

In the past I may have disagreed with you in defense of a recruit going through the process, but in this case, I completely agree. ISU was just a holding spot for him. I think he had his decision made for him and it was destined to be a Big 10 school.

I just hope we can land one of the 2 RBs visiting in the next couple weeks.

I've never once had an issue with a kid going through the process. It's a once in a lifetime type of thing. However, Mister has done a very poor job of handling the process. His parents should catch some of that blame as well.

I was really hoping to get Mister...until Warren decided to visit. No comparison to the potential between those 2 IMO. Warren would definitely be one of the most talented prospects we've brought in under Rhoads.

Essentially. We are fine this coming season for running back with Wimberly and Nealy. Standard may see some snaps, not sure. And with good things coming from inside about Tyler Brown, I am sure we will be just fine. Syria has been putting up killer numbers this last season too so I don't see a reason to worry too much about RB. You always want great players so if we land one of those visiting running backs, great, if not, no biggie imo. I would be fine with finishing the class out with DL recruits.

I look at running backs as if they are a dime a dozen. Honestly if you have no offensive line, unless you have Barry Sanders, you arent running the ball anyway.

What about Jeff Jones? Ever since warren popped up, I haven't heard much about Jones. Any news on that front?

He received offers from Michigan and Florida recently but still remains committed to Minnesota.

We will try and get a commitment from Mister, Warren, Mack, or Jones. It's likely first come, first served. I'm assuming (guessing) we won't take more than 1 of those guys since Syria is already committed to this class. I obviously could be wrong with that thinking since I'm not on the coaching staff and I don't know the scholarship situation.

This X1000. There are really only a few, literally, in each class that are really special. Our neighbors to the east are a great example that RB's really are kind of a dime a dozen. You build a solid OL and you'll run the ball even if I'm the guy carrying it.

Wow! In my opinion we really don't need divas that refer to themselves in the third person. Move on Tommy.

He is not talking to himself in third person. That is a ask.fm post. He replied to the post saying, "ay". Still, not thinking this looks good for ISU. Warren would be sick. Runs under a 4.4 40.

Thanks for clarification. I am an old man that doesn't speak twitter :)

So we've moved on from the "most important recruit in the class" stage to the "probably not coming here-never really wanted him-he's a diva and we have or will get someone better" stage?

:pconfused:

Crazy-do a search on Rivals of 4.4 or less and you see there are only 5 sub-4.4's in the country that have a D1 offer. Warren is one of them and he's the only one that weighs more than 180. Most of the sub-4.4's are just guys that reported that as their speed, including a guy named Grant from Dyersville.... If legit, this would be a big get.

I remember reading that Michael Warren's recruiting was going to erupt after he received a college qualifying ACT score, but has it really? It's been a few weeks now since and I haven't been able to find anything on him recently regarding other programs coming after him. Does anyone know more about his offers since he qualified?
