Official 2014 Recruiting thread

Well we have 17 players graduating per the scholarship chart here on CF, and we have already signed 13 players i think? So 4 maybe? I honestly dont know how the scholarship situation is shaking out

Always add a couple for attrition and players like Dika who are done with football due to injury.

How many open scholarships do we have left? I think below would be most needed on top of our current commits.
1 - QB
2-3 - DL
1 - LB
1 - DB

Though I would be thrilled if ISU landed Kenric Young and Jeff Jones.

I bet we don't go after a QB, unless some highly sought after stud decided he wanted to grace us with his presence. That kid Starcevich (sp?) is supposed to come in as a grayshirt in January. But, I do hope for the 2-3 DL, that you mentioned. That is a high needs position.

Oh yeah, thrilled is an understatement if Jones and Young decide on playing for the good guys.

We already are going after a QB and quite likely will get a commitment from him. I assume with the offers he isn't being brought in to change positions either.

i forgot about that guy. I wonder if he stays at QB? He has all the tangibles for a being a solid DB.

From video, he reminds you of Colin Kaepernick-esque player, you know, the guy who played at Nevada while Coach Klenakis was there. Doubt he changes position. Probably a redshirt next year, lets Sam finish his senior year, and then he Rohach, and maybe Lanning and Hodge battle for the starting spot in 2016.

Not a bad comparison. You're right, after watching his hudl vid, there is no way they move this kid from QB. All I saw before were the 2 stars and thought the kid must be ok. He's pretty good.

Darius Lee Campbell is a very athletic, fast QB. He has apparently has had some ankle issues (this season) and isn't running as much this year as last. Watch his video (HUDL). Draw your own conclusions about his passing talent. IMO, Alton Meeks was a better high school QB than D. Campbell. Darius is the kind of athete that is very hard to pass on (speed and size). I would offer him with the understanding that if QBing doesn't work out, he should take a shot at safety, or LBer.

This was my thoughts as well, bring him in and give him a full chance at QB. If things don't work out there, he has plenty of ability to play a lot of positions at 6'2" 200lbs already and that speed and athleticism.

I really doubt Young comes here. Pretty sure he is going to Indiana. He seems to love them for some strange reason but if not him then Deionte Gaines I would take in a heartbeat.

Might want to play right away, we've acquired quite the stable of WR's the past few years.

Ecby, Bundrage, Montgomery, Lazard to name a few...

I think a lot of people are over looking Jauan Wesley too. He might do some work after a couple years here. Does anyone think Lazard will redshirt or will he play right away?

There are plenty I didn't name, Wesley is definitely another good pickup. Lazard won't RS.

Lazard would start right now over Coleman.

Another receiver everyone forgets is Quan West. Tore his ACL last fall and I think he's played some this year. Dude is 6'4" and IIRC was fast. Won't make noise this year after injury last year but he could be a great red zone asset down the line.

So, how long until people figure out that Indiana can throw the **** out of the football?
