Official 2014 Recruiting thread

This is a valid point. However, if he was so set on going to WV why wouldn't he just committ while on his visit recently? I thought I read somewhere he just took a vist to WV... I guess it would make most sense just to committ then rather than drag it out a few more days.
Maybe he wanted to sleep on it, talk it over with parents, or maybe he did and just wanted to "announce" like kids seem to like to do these days. Why didnt mister and msu? Who knows. I think he listed us because we are in the mix and he likes us for the reasons mentioned same with gtu. I think we have a chance just not a great one. Just like Mister thing can happen to sway someone one way or the other h
I think he probably wasnt 100% so maybe lazard called him today and said with this offense we are putting togethor imagine if we had a stud like him on D. Why not be a part of the first Big 12 championship team in ISU history... hey could happen.

It could be he wanted to talk with his folks about it first. Who knows, but the fact he hasn't visited here, I wouldn't bet on a commit to ISU.

Hate to be that guy, but GT is the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Yes, I would feel much more confident about him picking ISU if he'd been here on a visit, but plenty of other people have committed to the good guys in the last few years before ever getting to campus. 17-18 year old kids can be very unpredictable. But again, not holding my breath.

It's not surprising that he didn't commit on his visit to WV. It happens all the time that players visit. Go home. Talk to parents and think it over and then commit.

I can't believe how many posters can't spell COMMIT correctly.
I realized I did right after posting along with other less glaring errors. However, since it was replied to with another version of the misspelling I let it go figuring two wrongs would equal a right.

Edit, I did go back and fix it for you though.

We need to land Sykes. He is a huge target and him combined with Buchner would be a great LB class for us. He thinks so as well as other recruits.
@Ninth__Cloud and I got ranked as the top performers on the defense in the national select 7on7! Lets get him to #ISU
CyclONEnation needs to show him some twitter love.

He just committed to West Virginia

Why would he put ISU in his top 3 and never take a visit? Too bad - seems like every kid that visits is shocked at the great facilities, the great academic assistance and the great the Iowa State community support - too bad he won't see it until his RS Freshman season (if he gets to travel) and then it will be too late for him.

That is the problem with how things are set up now. Kids CAN'T take official visits until the fall. There was no way for our staff to even get him up here to see things unless he paid his own way.

The official visit window NEEDS to be moved up to June or July for us to host guys on official visits earlier. Especially considering that kids are committing earlier and earlier each year.

Ask yourself this... why have we been more successful with the more local highly rated recruits (Illinois and Wisconsin kids specifically)? Because they have been able to come to ISU for camps or have taken unofficial visits on their own dime.

We'd be able to woo a lot more highly rated guys out of the south were we allowed to host them on official visits over the summer.
