Official 2014 Recruiting thread

So how about the unreported ones. Couldn't that be a wash with the reported ones?

I'm sorry AWOL2000 I have no idea how to quantify that nor do I really care. I see you seem to be satisfied with ISU's recruiting, so we can just leave it at that.

Satisfied no. However you made a blanket statement using the word can't. If you would have said we don't do a good enough job there would be not argument from me. If you want to be negative fine. It's a board designed for people to voice opinions. But if your going to make a statement of fact either be right or be prepared to be proven wrong.

and not being able to quantify that is the point to my statement. You don't know which offers are legit and which ones are not.

Best of luck to him at Minnesota, those it does feel out of left field considering us and Wisconsin were leading for his services. Bummer, on to the next one.

1 out of 7 of our current recruits had a BCS offer when they committed. The LB from Wisky did get a Pitt offer after he committed.

Debunk at all you want in you're own mind, but we generally aren't signing kids other BCS schools want. I don't know why people get so bent out of shape over it.

We are going to need the Elmore type recruits to get to the at 8 or 9 win threshold.

And save the Campos and other one off comparisons. If you want to go name for name, you are going to lose.
This guy....

Looks like a future rush end to me. Awesome size already and if his 40 time is correct, he's pretty damn quick for only being a high school junior.

No problem if he were to grow into a DE. But if he is fast & can cover the field sideline to sideline, then keep him @ LB & he could fit the mold of a Big XII-ready LB with size & speed. Be nice to follow up last year's recruiting class that included Alton Meeks with another HS LB in the 6'3", 235 lb-plus range. Also would be a great start in a core of LB's to add with Seonbuchner.

Should have at least a couple recruits for LB with those measureables every recruiting class. Some may likely work their way into DE's just as some safeties will work their way into being LB's. For a program like ours depending on player development, this is key for our team speed.

It's fun seeing these recruits pop up and I like how we are hitting different areas. Seems like there is a plan of attack as we are working Wisconsin (coaching change), Illinois (Illini & Iowa down), and Missouri hard (Mizzou had poor 1st year in SEC).

Referring to Elmore picking Minny.
Makes up for some of the butthurt Minny will be feeling after Vaughn picks the Good Guys. (it is okay to mix sports in recruiting threads, right?)

Literally the last thing that ISU needed while recruiting Mister, does not look good with the bump of decision date and other visits, just hope that Rhoads and crew get their Mariano Rivera cleats on and close this kid
