Official 2014 Recruiting thread

If you want to talk size/speed combos, this kid's profile reminds me of Jake Knott's during his senior year of high school...you know, right before CPR took a look at him?

Jacob Sobotka - Yahoo! Sports

He's listed as an athlete, but there's an article about him being a dual threat QB. Is he intent on playing QB or at least on the offensive side of the ball or would he be open to defense as a pretty fast LB or pretty big safety. Anybody know him and have any insight on where he wants to play? I could even see him as a good WR with the size and speed if QB doesn't work out.

Buzz about another WR.

Garrett Gray - Yahoo! Sports

Would be pretty awesome to have another 6'5"-ish receiver (Jr stats were very good - 82 Rec, 1,226 yards, 19TDs).
Iowa amongst those with offers to Gray.

We've been doing to work to get there and have some taller/larger receivers, and it would be nice to have the match up in our favor for a change (and more often than not). When Mizzou had their good run, they had the Denario Alexander/Michael Egnew/Wes Kemp types that really made their offense potent. BTW, these three were rated 2*, 2*, & 3* by Rivals, respectively.

I love his measurables. If he is a smart player, could be a diamond in the rough.
Love the looks of this guy: Nile Sykes - Yahoo! Sports
Yes, he would be huge for us not only for his talent, but getting in the Illinois market with Mister.
Sounds like Elmore has been receiving interest from Saban. Elmore is coming up for an ISU camp on June 2nd.
The buzz on this kid seems legit so this doesn't surprise me. He would be one of the best gets of the class if we landed him. However, probably not likely but you never know. We need the Lazard factor here.

Completely agree, this kid is legit and would be an amazing get by CPR. Lazard and Seonbuchner have been on his case. I think that Seonbuchner has seen what Lazard has been doing and trying to do the same thing, maybe not to the same extent but at least with his other friends/recruits in his area who haven't committed

His athletic skills are apparent on the basketball court, too. Maybe we can get a package deal football & basketball, a la Tony Gonzalez @ Cal. 2 sports, playing for Rhoads & Hoiberg. What 2 sport fella wouldn't like that?

Gaelin Elmore - Highlight Videos, Schedule & Roster - Hudl

couldn't get link to go directly to his basketball highlights. Have to select those on your own down below his football video.

Coach Klenakis came by my school here in a Houston, TX suburb looking at our DE, Center, Safety, Kicker and our two young RB's...

Really good guy and very complimentary of our kids and our program... He made a good impression.

Oh... and who would some of these kids be?

Don't know if it was mentioned, but I found out that we have three more offers on the table today.

The first is another DB from Largo, FL, not ranked on rivals yet- Cordell Hudson- Cordell Hudson - Yahoo! Sports

The second is a 3* RB that has been getting a lot of attention out of Missouri City, TX. Rivals doesn't have the offer posted yet- Vic Enwere- Vic Enwere - Yahoo! Sports

The last one is a 3* FS/SS that has gotten A TON of offers (22 or so now) out of San Antonio, TX. Lazard congratulated him on Twitter and said he was excited to potentially be teammates- Arrion Springs- Arrion Springs - Yahoo! Sports

I hope Lazard will be tweeting like this from the Notre Dame coach's office during his visit!

I saw Enwere's numbers and thought, HOLY ****!

Go get 'em, CPR!

Exactly my thoughts too Aclone; the kid is a gamer for sure. His numbers were really impressive, especially for a kid in a FB state like TX!

And hey, if he's not really a running back, well, hey...just as with Justin Webster, Wally can work with that.
