i hope they get in, have no ill feelings against them.........Fred Hoiberg has bigger fish to fry than worrying about the Hawks. He is working on teams to compete for national championships, not mythcial state championships.
It smells like a Magic competition convention. Combination of junior high locker room, Funyuns and Mountain Dew.
I don't want Iowa in just because their fans are annoying as **** and we will have to share local media attention with them.
Why would that be good for ISU? Fred and Fran will probably recruit against each other quite a bit in the future.
I'm not an Iowa hater myself, just pointing out that it isn't really good for ISU for Iowa basketball to be successful.
Yeah and Iowa is only playing for the mythical state championship? Just saying, most of the country looks at the basketball schools in Iowa as jokes and it'd be nice to have both in the tourney year after year again.
Do Fred and Fran recruit from the same places outside of Iowa? Where is Fred's big recruiting hot-bed?
Yes, they have both been recruiting Bangladesh pretty hard I've been hearing.
I think a lot of the distaste for iowa comes from blatant lack of media coverage and obnoxious fans.
They both recruit Detroit. Iowa has gone after 2 players that ISU had been in on awhile. Georges Niang and Rashad Vaughn.
If they go, it will be hard to get a stall in the bathroom, what with their chicks getting nailed in there.
Even if Iowa is only in the NIT they will get double the media attention in Eastern Iowa that ISU will get in the NCAA's. Still, keep the little brother down (not in NCAA's), I say.
Are Auburn fans rooting for Bama to get in the tournament? ISU-Iowa might not have quite the level of hatred that Auburn and Bama fans have for each other, but rooting against your rival shouldn't be a hard concept to grasp.
Huh? I've traveled around the country and haven't been ridiculed for our state's horrible basketball, maybe I've been lucky. I'm guessing you're either a Hawk fan or you grew up somewhere outside the area where all you heard was how great Iowa was at everything which in turn led to every moron in town jumping on the bandwagon.
kwwl in waterloo after they introduce the people in the newsroom they show the kwwl logo and other pictures in the background. one of them is of the iowa logo.
FINALLY!!! Someone who grasps the concept of rivalry. I have been trying to explain this to people for many years.
For some reason there's a disturbing number of Iowans who want everyone to succeed, as if it's going to make our state better. Screw that, all that says to me is that you're not a real fan of either team.
