***Official 2013 Bracketology Thread***

Anybody know the actual science behind which bracket you are placed in? It's clearly not geographic in any way - exception to the #1 seeds. Or is it even a science, so much as a random draw?

You can google this. It's anything but a random draw. Lots of rules to be met to avoid rematches and such in the early rounds.

Here's an imaginary (but feasible*) Sweet 16 for the imaginary bracket:

MIDWEST
1 Michigan
5 Georgetown
3 Syracuse
7 Wichita State
WEST
9 Iowa State
5 Marquette
3 Ohio State
7 N.C. State
EAST
1 Duke
12 Belmont
3 Michigan State
2 Florida
SOUTH
1 Indiana
4 Butler
3 Louisville
10 Memphis
*I admit, I'm stretching "feasible" a little w/ the ISU pick :v_SPIN:

Stretching feasible a little? Yeah, understatement of the year. We're getting better but nowhere near top 16.

I like Lunardi's new bracket. Glad to see we have moved up, hopefully we can continue to move at least to a 7 seed.

Here's the Big 12's seeds right now according to Lunardi:

#2 Kansas
#4 Kansas State
#6 Oklahoma State
#9 Iowa State
#10 Oklahoma
#11 Baylor

I think the Big 12 will end up getting five in. Feel like either OU or BU will slide down the stretch and miss out.

Joined Feb 2013, 3 posts, 1 defending Kansas State, 1 saying Iowa State is a few years from competing for a Big 12 title, and this one. Troll on EMAW.

The Missouri Valley Conference is getting kinda crazy now. 3-way tie for first between Creighton, Wichita State, and Indiana State. All three will probably get into the Tourney. The one team to be aware of is Illinois State. They have won 6 out of their last 7 games and could be very dangerous in the MVC tournament.

In our last eight games, we go 7-1....we are playing for a seed in the brackets come conference tourney time. Go 6-2....not much difference. Go 5-3....better win a tourney game to make the bracket. Go 4-4....better win two games. Anything worse than that.....better be playing in, or winning the conference tourney to get mentioned in the brackets on selection Sunday.
