***Official 2013 Bracketology Thread***

Watching Northwestern play basketball is like watching a fish trying to survive out of water. It's alive, kind of flopping around and trying so damn hard to breathe, but its just so damn ugly and its getting closer to death with every single flap of the gills and soon it will just suffocate, dry up and shrivel into a rotting, stinking death. Only to be flushed down the toilet where all your poop and pee go.
I mean, they used all their timeouts only 1 minute into the second half!! And to top it off they wear purple!
The Scott Drew method of "coaching" must be catching on!

Yeah I guess I don't see any difference between the Bracketology now versus a few hours ago. Everything looks the same (I cleared my browser cache too). Strange. Still a 12 seed playing Saint Louis and Oklahoma still a 10 seed. Lol..laughable honestly.

He won't update the web version until tomorrow. I believe he does a full bracket once a day. I'm sure we'll be in a different spot come tomorrow morning.

AH gotcha now..makes sense.

Lunardi texts updates on the fly to ESPN. He doesn't update the web version til the morning as others have said.

Palm updates his pretty regularly, one of the positives of his brackets.

Anyone watching the Washington-Oregon game and catch Walton's Ray Lewis comment? He might be suspended for that one

Tomorrow's the day. Most every bubble team in action. We'll know a lot more about ISU's postseason possibilities in 24 hours. Bubble watch for Thursday with teams to cheer for in bold.

11:20 pm Update - Winners in Red

A-10
St. Joe's vs Xavier - Xavier is done.
George Washington vs UMass - UMass stays alive, still needs wins.

ACC

Wake Forest vs Maryland - Maryland stays alive but needs wins.

Big 12

Iowa State vs Oklahoma - F*CK YES

Baylor vs Oklahoma State - Baylor is done, NIT bound.

Big East

Cincinnati vs Georgetown - Cincy likely in, but a loss causes a little doubt.
Villanova vs Louisville - Same as Cincy. The Big East bubble picture is pretty set IMO.

Big 10
Minnesota vs Illinois - UM probably does not deserve a bid having lost 11 of last 16, still in though

Northwestern
vs Iowa - Iowa stays alive, must win on Friday.... oh yeah, **** YOU IOWA.

C-USA
UAB vs Southern Miss - SMU stays alive.

PAC 12
Arizona State vs UCLA - ASU is done, NIT bound.

SEC
Miss State vs Tennessee - Tennessee stays alive.
Vanderbilt
vs Arkansas - Arkansas is done, NIT bound.

WAC
UTSA vs Louisiana Tech - Tech is done.

GREAT day for ISU.

Iowa State is a lock. I still like doing this, so **** you, I'm doing it. Bubble watch for Friday with who to cheer for in bold.

A-10
Butler vs La Salle - A win locks La Salle in, a loss and they sweat it out.
UMass vs Temple - Temple is in, UMass needs wins to get in.

ACC
NC State vs Virginia - UVA is still on the bubble with a win.

Big 10
Iowa vs Michigan State - Hold my **** Iowa.

C-USA
UTEP vs Southern Miss - SMU potential at large candidate
Tulsa vs Memphis - Memphis will get an at large with a loss, so just win the tournament please

SEC
Tennessee vs Alabama - Bubble Elimination game. UT is ahead of Bama for now. Neither team is a lock with a win. Loser goes to NIT.

Vandy vs Kentucky - Kentucky is still not a lock with a win and a loss makes it nervous for them.

Also cheer for Southern against Alabama A&M. Southern winning helps ISU's RPI marginally.

I still don't understand how the SOS for OU is so much higher than ours. Okay, Gonzaga beat them and UNLV beat us... Also, Baylor is on the "work left to do" list... how the heck can they do any more work at this point! I pick them to win the NIT!

Iowa is in if they win, so go Izzo and MSU!! I really don't see Iowa winning. Izzo is Gold during this time of the year.

Random thoughts entering Friday, including only the teams that are still playing:

1. Bubble teams that gain the most with a win: Iowa, Maryland, Ole Miss (each also in category #3)
2. Bubble teams that create the most doubt with a loss: Kentucky, Temple
3. Bubble teams that stay in the at-large picture by advancing: Tennessee, Virginia, Southern Miss, Alabama.
4. Tournament locks that would boost seeding the most with a win: Iowa State, Illinois.
5. Teams with zero shot for at-large still alive as auto-qualifier in multi-bid leagues: Boston College, Florida State, Nebraska, Utah, Vanderbilt.

A few other teams could come out of left field as potential at-large, but that's another level away.
