Offensive Line

It’s so obvious the running game has been bailed out by absolutely elite running backs (Breece and Montgomery). The OL has a long way to go.

Honestly Rocco has been excellent in the pocket for most of the year and has bailed them out of sacks the whole season. Can’t imagine how much a QB like Kempt would have struggled this year.
Probably been posted. RB set an all time clone passing record. 446 yards. Something like 20 yard average per pass.
Can't blame him, and yeah, running around like a chicken with its head cut off

Anyone who believes this, I encourage to find a different hobby. It’s clueless Campbell can recruit better than other previous ISU coach, but the reality is we can't develope players to be good enough to compe

te with good mac teams or g5 teams.

Look, we regularly get beaten by good mac teams and g5 teams. Your high on either crack or cyclone kool-aid if you think our ceiling is much higher than that. Fiesta bowl was a fluke; be honest with yourself.
We're now 5 and 18 in bowl wins. We're not currently nor ever will be world beaters. We can't buy or attract high end talent, especially the last couple years.
We do okay (still far worse than iowa or KSU) at player development but we're still a long way off. Not calling for firing campbell, but set your bar at a reasonable (e.g. low) level. Anything above 6-6 is a great year by ISU standards. Keep some perspective.

Why did you change my posts a couple times?

Pad levels are too high for run blocking, especially for 6 6 tall lineman. We use our hands generally well which is good for pass blocking but not the best for run blocking.

When we had more success during the year, we were pulling blockers but I didn’t see much of that today. When they are sending a lot of players, it is difficult to pull as much with a back like Sama. Sama is not a runner who typically just finds a quick hole and explodes into it (Kstate he did and that is what we need him to do).

Those are just a couple basic things. We need to synch our backs and line better.

Blocking and tackling too high are imo common themes.

Warning:
Next person who expresses optimism in next year's offensive line is gonna get punched in the mouth.

I do think there was some progress with Clanton this year for finding strengths.

Today didn't reflect that obviously.
