With ISU having 4 scholarships how do you want them using them? The 4 players I would choose are. Mike Thorne Jr, Johnathan Williams III, Cheik Diallo, and Nick Noskowiak. That would be a very solid group coming in.

Diallo would be great.

I trust that Mayor & Co. will utilize these remaining scholarships in the coming weeks even though Diallo attending ISU seems unlikely

Where's your link saying Diallo isn't coming to ISU? Come on. There are plenty of times when a recruit picks a school that most people were not expecting. I think we have a good shot. Matt A leaving doesn't ruin things completely.

It'd be pretty impressive for the staff to fill all 4 scholarships starting in April without having to resort to any Bluford like prayers.

I'm guessing at least 1 goes unfilled.

I mostly agree. ISU's staff under hoiberg has had a decent success with shooting for the stars, and if necessary, good plan B's. For a backup plan to say, Diallo, I'd love more of a brute-type big, that is a dependable defensive presence off the bench, ala Edozie. Actually, I wish Edozie was coming back. At this point of way-to-early speculation, we are returning a worse defensive team than last year

I agree with you. However Edozie didn't play this past season, so I would have no expectation that he would play next year if he were coming back. I agree we need another big though. And a big big. Not a 6'8" big. He will need to have some semblance of offensive skills in order to get minutes tho.

Agreed. I think we're both talking about a player like Edozie, with just enough offensive skill to earn more minutes than he did. We're talking about a player to come off the bench primarily for their defense and just not be an offensive liability. I love Hoiball, but I'm tired of the revolving door post defense that leaves the team vulnerable against good teams, or even bad brut-ish teams.

First, at the five I'd love to get Diallo but if we miss I think a big body would be a nice compliment for Mckay now and the Greek in the future.

With Williams gone I think Nader will provide amble backup for Niang. This is a spot we need a transfer that sits next season plus a 16 recruit.

The 3 we could really use a proven shooter to compete for minutes with Burton and Nader.

We are three deep at the 2 with a SR, JR and SO. Use a 16 recruit here

At the point it would be nice to get the next chapter in place sooner than later.

So basically 1, 3, & 5 with an open for a stud semester transfer.

Noskowiak is worth the "risk" he seems to have. I say we take him.

Diallo is the obvious want but we'll see how that turns out.

Fill three and save one.

Yes, a big like the monster Gonzaga had.

Noskowiak is about 5th on my want list

1. Diallo
2. An immediately eligible big man
3. A sit out big man
4. A 6-4/6-7 sit out guard/small forward

#4 is not a priority. We are in well with Coffee and Bridges who can fill this role with any luck. We do need a point guard for 2016 which needs to be adressed, whether NN of someone else

You can't rely on landing those two recruits. We haven't landed a HS recruit since 2012 so I'm not penciling those two in my lineup. As far as the PG thing goes we should have Monte and Hallice. We need more? I'd be surprised if Monte wasn't here for 4 years.

Personally, I would prefer something like Monte/NN at PG with Thomas/Hallice at the SG in two years.

What do you think our chances are? Let's say we have a good shot, or at least as good a shot as Kentucky, Kansas, and St Johns. That is still only 25% and still counts as unlikely. It is the nature of recruiting.
