Occam's razor: Baylor not on the level

Since another poster took so much abuse for posting that he thought Baylor cheats after a loss...I agree with him and will post it after a win as well.

Occam's razor: all things being equal, a simpler explanation is better than a more complex one.

What's the simple explanation? A team that has NEVER won a game in Ames against Iowa State, has never won a Big 12 championship and has never won a Big 12 tournament, gets multiple elite blueblood level recruiting classes without cheating coming off a murder coverup? Or that they cheat?

The latter is easily the simpler explanation. ISU has had periods of greater basketball success and never came anywhere near landing classes like they have had recently.

I'm focused on the win and SC's great senior day, just wanted to point out that people who think this is very probable don't just think it whenever ISU loses to Baylor, they can think it when ISU beats Baylor as well.

Yep, beating Cheaters is awesome, HFCS I agree, Baylor has some talent, but finsished 4th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think the simple fact that almost no big 12 coaches show scott drew any respect gives you the only answer you need... he lies, cheats, and steals...
 
They probably cheat, but so does the rest of the conference. Perry Jones' Mom all but said that OSU and Texas offered money.

Love It!!!!!!

I stayed away from the Boards for a day, but this guy pays attention. HFCS deserves more rep points than can be given, by me and everyone else frankly.....

I hope when coach Rhoads finally starts pulling in 4 or 5 star players people don't start thinking that we cheat because why else would those players want to play here.

I would think ISU is a much easier place to recruit to for basketball than Baylor. You have better facilities, a fan base that cares/supports it, and Ames is routinely listed as a "best place to live" while Waco is routinely listed as a "worst place to live". ISU has better basketball history as well over the past 1/4 century and wasn't coming off the death penalty/one of the worst scandals in college sports history.

The only external advantage Baylor would have is A) weather and B) proximity to home for Texas players.

There are a lot more logical explanations for ISU's return to basketball success than Baylor's rise.
 
All who are justifying ISU success over Baylor are adding to Occam's razor. We just beat BU, maybe you should let this go??? dweebs

Not really. How many people currently on Iowa State's roster could choose great offers over us? Now how many at Baylor chose Baylor over offers from Kentucky, UNC, Duke, etc.? How many were competing with us for Chris Allen, Chris Babb, Scott Christopherson, Royce White, Anthony Booker, etc? Not many because they were transfers.

Why is Scott Drew one of the most widely disliked coaches in the country? Because he ****** off the coaching fraternity, which is really impressive considering some of the slime balls coaching.

I drove through Waco and spent some time in Austin recently. The coolest thing about Waco/Baylor is that it's somewhat close to Austin and UT. Night and day in terms of luring a top recruit and places I would want to live myself.

And B doesn't explain them getting any player UT wants.

different baylor didnt gradually build up its program, was over night.

If in Rhoads first recruiting class we had 6 5 stars, and 10 4 stars id be inclined to think it wasnt on the up and up.

ISU would get those players only AFTER they've won conference championships, BCS games, Final Fours...etc.

In my two decades of following ISU, Fizer was the only blue chipper who seemed as out of nowhere as a dozen recent Baylor hoops recruits. People close to ISU the story on Fizer's recruitment, but from the outside, the Baylor situation would have been comparable to us adding 3-6 other McD AAs around Fizer in a short span. Not to mention that ISU basketball under Floyd and Orr was light years beyond where Baylor BB had ever been prior to the murder and murder coverup that launched them to more success somehow.
