I know some Tide fans were hoping for Prohm, but Oats seems like a nice consolation prize. Wonder how he will handle the Lewis situation.

It does seem like a strange fit. He is from Wisconsin and has MW recruiting ties (Romulus HS in MI). He was ready for a step up in conference but assumed it would be in the Big 10 or Big East. Good luck to him especially trying to sell the Tide fans this will be a step up from Johnson. I am sure they had other names in mind.
Do you think he will have to change his last name to Grits?
I like the southern theme, but would have went with Nate "Steel Cut' Oats to make it more bad ass.
He would have been a great fit at Northwestern, even Penn St because both of those coaches deserve to be fired.
Wasn’t Oats recently extended? If I was Buffalo I can’t go for that.
He should of gone to Indiana...Assembly Hall and Oats, can’t miss.
