Not a single Cyclone ...

Funny, I could swear that Craig and his double-doubles were an improvement. And DG is a heck of a lot better. Staiger we didn't see last year. Just where are you looking for improvement? The walkons?

Because our players are so burdened by the 'system' they're trying to learn that they can't....not sure if something is supposed to click at some point but, it sure hasn't happened yet. Nothing wrong with a motion offense and some fastbreaks...especially if your players are more talented than the competition. I'm losing faith at a rapid rate

Guys who we are counting on this year
Hamilton: Freshman
Eikmeyer: Freshman
Vanderbeeken: New guy that is banged up
Garrett: Soph
Brackins: Soph
Stiagger: 1st year Soph
Buckley: Freshman

Thompson: Senior
Petersen: Walkon Senior
Haluska: Walkon Senior

I sound like a broken record, but we are not going to be any better until Garrett and Crew are Juniors and Seniors and the younger guys are not playing as much. We almost should have went after a big guy in the juco world just to get by then next couple years. But I think GMAC was thinking they will have Brackins, Hamilton, Vanderbeeken, Mann and Pomlee for next season.

I think individual player have definitely improved over last year. The team as a whole has definitely gotten worse since last year.

People have individually improved but can they take the team and make it better. When you have one player a game who can score, you are hurting to win any game.

The early returns on player improvement aren't good. We'll see how it plays out in the Big 12 because the lower half of the league is not looking very strong. If we end up in the 10-12 range again, that's a baaad sign.

I guess the most disappointing thing is we're not showing improvement during a very easy non-conference schedule.

Limited athletes have lower ceilings for improvment.

You can only get so much better with some guys.

Lots of people calling for the AD’s and the coach’s head over one loss but that is too kneejerk of a reaction. It is silly to blame the AD for the coaching level. Yes, the AD is responsible for putting the best coach on staff that can win and give him/her the necessary resources. Anyone who manages a team of people knows that if you get rid of a poor performer the burden will fall on their shoulders until the person is replaced. Do you want Jamie Pollard coaching the team? (Think Kevin McHale and the T-Wolves!)

People have made this point many times already, this is a very young team and let’s face it their minds where some place else last night. The test of the coaching staff and team is how they learn from this. Now this doesn’t mean winning at Houston. It means giving their best for an entire game. “Hustle points” will tell if they learned from the loss.

One observation I would make on the coaching style over the last year plus this year. I believe the personnel are swapped out too quickly. It seems like players just get into the flow of the game and are yanked out of the game. It seems like players are on too short of a leash and it is creating fear that they will be taken out if they make a mistake; which is leading to mistakes. Also, it is very hard to just turn it on after being out of the game. It confuses me why you take Lucca out in the last couple minutes of the game last night after he makes two 3 pointers to bring you close. I venture to say he has a better chance making a third basket than Haluska or Eik coming off the bench.

All I will say is that the reactions to our teams performance right now is NOT BASED ON ONE GAME. It is a pattern of dismal play.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why McDermott had 3 walk ons in the game in the last 7 minutes when we were down. (Petersen, Haluska, Lee) They can't be our best options for a 5 minute stretch when the game is on the line. Lee walked away from being set during a free throw after the free throw shooter had been handed the ball. The guy made it anyway but that was a bone head play that could have let them have another shot at a free throw if he missed. How do you convince your fans you are trying to win with a trio of 6 foot walk ons?
