North Carolina Central

So, what is the story here? It seems like this isn't the first time you have encountered this poster.

Pain in the butt on Onnidan, no one likes him/her. Banned from d2football forum and MEAC FAN ZONE. Real handle is Getuprams. Winston Salem State fan and they do not like him/her either.

So, you think you will be the second team all season to hold us to 70 or less? Do you really believe, like your coach, that you are the 10th best defense in the country? What do you think your defense would be ranked if you had played a schedule with average D1 difficulty?

We like you guys and what you are doing with the program, but can't just sit here and let you claim to be able to be the second team all season to hold us to 70, especially when your coach opens his press conference acknowledging that we have one of the best offenses in the country [against one of the toughest schedules in the country].

Now, to move into actual basketball strategy conversation, what do you think your defense will be able to accomplish against us?

1. Stopping Kane from penetrating to start plays, including drawing fouls when he takes it all the way to the basket.
2. Not giving up open 3s from perimeter passes.
3. Preventing back door passes for layups, reverse layups, and alley oops.
4. Stopping passes into the middle (like Baylor has done well twice on us).
5. Stopping moves by Niang or Ejim after getting passes in the paint.
6. Preventing passes from the paint to guys for open 3s.

The problem is that we do all these things from almost any offensive set. Thus, it comes down to execution. If we do any of these well, we will break down your defense, and open up most of the others. And that doesn't even address our pace on pushing the ball up court.

Glad our mods took care of him quickly. However, I have to admit that his trolling was much more interesting than the typical Iowa Hok troll.

Did not say who would win.

Relatives (KU fans ) are down in SA on vacation and are staying at the same hotel as the team. Nephew (college age) had a great conversation with Melvin, DeAndre, and Naz. Nephew wished them luck and said " boy, you really took it to Kansas" not sure who replied but he received a "ummmm, yeah" response from them. I loved it!!!

This should scare any team

"ISU has a trio of scorers averaging in double figures as 6-6, 220 senior Melvin Ejim tops the squad averaging 18.1 points per contest. The Big 12 Player of the Year also averages 8.5 boards per game. The Big 12 Championship's Most Outstanding Player, 6-4 senior DeAndre Kane is second on the team averaging 17.0 points per game while ripping down 6.7 boards and dishing out 5.8 assists. The final double-figure scorer is 6-7, 240 pound sophomore Georges Niang, as he averaged 16.5 points per contest for the Cyclones. Freshman point guard Monte Morris is No. 1 in the history of college basketball in assist-to-turnover ratio at 5.4."

Fixed it for them.

Summary analysis:
* Iowa State may not win by an overwhelming margin (less than 10 points wouldn't shock me at all, considering how long it takes this team to hit a stride). It would be nice to avoid a nail-biter (we've had too many of those this year — I'd be willing to endure it again after round-of-64, for as long as our team is in it).
* If NC Central wins, it'd be the worst loss of ISU's season, by an overwhelming margin (especially considering the potential as a 3 seed). Half of NCC's wins were vs. teams that were lower-RPI than any team on Iowa State's schedule. ISU's top 11 RPI wins are better than NCC's best win. RPI doesn't define everything, but I don't see evidence that losing this game could happen without an epic collapse.
