Guessing Hampton didnt either.
Just sayin.
I can play this game. FGCU was a 15 seed last year! NCC is only a 14 seed! We're forked!
Just sayin.

About a 5% chance each way. The other 90% falls somewhere in the middle.Every game against every team makes me nervous... so that doesn't mean much. I would say that there is an equal chance of winning the whole damn thing as there is to losing the first round... sounds crazy... and probably is, but this team can either dominate or seem to fall asleep and go ice cold. The Baylor game gave me hope that they can win even if they play a terrible half.
This team isn't Missouri from two years ago. This team isn't that 2001 team that tailspun into the tourney. This is a solid, Fred Hoiberg coached team.
NCCU's best win was against a team that Iowa'd themselves into the tourney. I'm sorry that I'm not concerned. Jesus, were you guys worried about UMKC as well?
It was also on Nov. 20th, so it was still early. Not saying it doesn't matter or isn't an upset. But every non conference season has those weird upsets or almost upsets. Last year we almost got upset by both MVSU and Yale didn't we? and look at how that season turned out. Some things that are useful to know about their win over NC St-
1. NC State's top scorer and rebounder is TJ Warren
2. He fouled out with 13 pts, 3 rebs (28 minutes in a game that went to OT). He averages 24 and 7 on the year.
3. NCC shot 45 free throws and made 41
4. NC State is 190th in points per game and 153rd in assists. We are 6th and 1st.
As an ISU fan I understand the danger in overlooking any team. Don't make us revisit all the history. It isn't just limited to men's basketball
And as an ISU fan, I understand that Fred is very quickly, if not already, making a case to be the best coach we've ever had. And this isn't football, where our best coaches have losing records. I mean, what's the guy got to do to earn your trust? He hasn't lost in the 1st (2nd) round yet, has a Big 12 tournament championship, has the second highest win total in a single season in school history and has more wins than any other ISU coach in their first four seasons, not to mention multiple player awards. At what point are you guys going to give him the benefit of the doubt that he can beat a ******* 14 seed?
Overall, my thoughts are simple:
The field must be destroyed.
NCCU is part of that field.
So, nothing personal, just business: NCCU must be destroyed.
Its not questioning Fred. But Fred isnt out there shooting and making the decisions on the court.
And pretty sure our coach when we got Hamptoned...took us too some pretty high places as well.
Point is...Fred can coach with anyone....but hes standing out of bounds for 40 minutes (usually Matt Thomas is too)..JK. Im not worried about this game at all. We will be ready.
Do the 6-9 and the 6-11 players on the team get a lot of playing time? If not I think I know exactly what I would run if I was Hoiberg.
And those players have shown over and over again that they won't falter. They've lost one game all season that they had no business losing. Again, this isn't the team that's lost to Hampton. There's not a single current player or coaching staff member that was affiliated with that game. That team backed into the tournament. This team has finished as strong as it could have with four straight wins over tourney teams. How about we stop acting like something that's happened once in the history of our entire program is the norm?
