NCCU can play a perfect game, and we can struggle and we still win. Nothing against them, but our team is tough and very very well coached. On the Hawks board they said that they wished their team had the mental toughness that our team has. I'm gonna find the quote and post it here, because I really liked it and thought it was true.

Some things that are useful to know about their win over NC St-
1. NC State's top scorer and rebounder is TJ Warren
2. He fouled out with 13 pts, 3 rebs (28 minutes in a game that went to OT). He averages 24 and 7 on the year.
3. NCC shot 45 free throws and made 41
4. NC State is 190th in points per game and 153rd in assists. We are 6th and 1st.

So when we beat NCC can we put all this Hampton talk to bed? I think the points been driven home, any team can lose any game in the tourney, that's why they play them game.
As an ISU fan I understand the danger in overlooking any team. Don't make us revisit all the history. It isn't just limited to men's basketball
It was also on Nov. 20th, so it was still early. Not saying it doesn't matter or isn't an upset. But every non conference season has those weird upsets or almost upsets. Last year we almost got upset by both MVSU and Yale didn't we? and look at how that season turned out.
And as an ISU fan, I understand that Fred is very quickly, if not already, making a case to be the best coach we've ever had. And this isn't football, where our best coaches have losing records. I mean, what's the guy got to do to earn your trust? He hasn't lost in the 1st (2nd) round yet, has a Big 12 tournament championship, has the second highest win total in a single season in school history and has more wins than any other ISU coach in their first four seasons, not to mention multiple player awards. At what point are you guys going to give him the benefit of the doubt that he can beat a ******* 14 seed?
Its not questioning Fred. But Fred isnt out there shooting and making the decisions on the court.
And pretty sure our coach when we got Hamptoned...took us too some pretty high places as well.
Point is...Fred can coach with anyone....but hes standing out of bounds for 40 minutes (usually Matt Thomas is too)..JK. Im not worried about this game at all. We will be ready.
Nice article. Seems like a good guy. Building teams at those schools is incredibly difficult and making the tournament...just making it...a lot of times means more to them than when big schools make it.
Now...having said that we still need to curbstomp them by 20....but good article.....wish that guy the best.

And those players have shown over and over again that they won't falter. They've lost one game all season that they had no business losing. Again, this isn't the team that's lost to Hampton. There's not a single current player or coaching staff member that was affiliated with that game. That team backed into the tournament. This team has finished as strong as it could have with four straight wins over tourney teams. How about we stop acting like something that's happened once in the history of our entire program is the norm?
They have 1 win over a tournament team. A team which most experts I have seen think shouldn't have made the tournament. And it happened in November.
