No one said this would be easy....

4. Some years you have good luck, some you don't. Ask Iowa. We've lost some breaks, but they will even out in the future. Always do.
In this village, a little boy is given a gift of a horse. The villagers all say, "Isn't that fabulous? Isn't that wonderful? What a wonderful gift."

The Zen master says, "We'll see."

A couple years later the boy falls off the horse and breaks his leg. The villagers all say, "Isn't that terrible? The horse is cursed! That's horrible!"

The Zen master says, "We'll see."

A few years later the country goes to war and the government conscripts all the males into the army, but the boy's leg is so screwed up, he doesn't have to go. The villagers all say, "Isn't that fabulous? Isn't that wonderful?"

The Zen master says, "We'll see."

Either ISU disgraced an Indian burial ground or ISU has some serious karma coming it's way.

I think the SDSU games and Kent State should have been a warning sign too us. Those were two teams we should have put big numbers up against and didn't. I, like most people here, dismissed this and blindly drank the kool-aid. I think this team has talent, but those games should have told us things are not where they need to be yet.

Frankly I'm going to listen to Chizik this offseason. When he repeatedly said we weren't where we need to be on the offensive line I figured he was trying to motivate those guys. Turned out he was being brutally honest. I think he'll continue to say those things because I think he's a perfectionist but honestly if I would have taken the assessment of the guy who works with these kids every day maybe I wouldn't have drunk the kool-aid so hard myself and been frustrated the last few weeks.

This is actually a concern for me as much as anything else - we are getting breaks right now. Look at the turnover margin.

Please let us know, because I'd love to hear why the team is drastically regressing in every phase.

I think Ketelmeister already gave you your answer

2. Main leaders of the team graduated..Bowen, Meyer, Blythe with no vocal leaders to replace. You may discount this, but its huge

Losing three though games in a row, and what seemed to be a friend leaving the program, will take a toll. If you don't have a true vocal leader on the field when things start going poorly, it can be tough to keep your head up and keep giving 110%.

FYI, as bad as we played against Nebraska, we were still in that game early in the 4th quarter...

I guess hind sight is 20/20 and I'll agree with you, while at the game I was thinking, "We've still got a shot" looking back now. We never really went for it. The only points we scored were on a break away run. We had pretty much 1 sustained drive that ended in a missed field goal. Was the game out of reach in the 3rd quarter? Statistically no, realistically, look at how that game was played, yeah, we were never going to be in that game. Like I said though, it's hindsight now. Maybe it's a glass half full half empty kind of thing. I like to consider myself a half full guy, but, this season is looking more and more like I'll never get a refill.

It sounds like y'alls Cyclones are near mirror images of my Aggies.

I just hope we are able to pull one out, pretty soon.

We had every oppurtunity to tie the game, but turnovers killed those drives. I was feeling good about the game in the 3rd quarter.

Most of the Aggie fans I know down here are well aware of just how bad both teams are. There has been zero trash talk, because both teams' fans are sure their team will the one that loses.

Even the mayor of Austin, who is an A&M alum, said on the radio down here this morning that this is one that the Aggies might have a fighting chance in, but he was quick to point out how unsure he was of their chances.
